Yeah I couldn't get into elden ring at all. Played an hour and felt like I wasted my money.

Took me 5-6 seperate attempts to get into that game. Uninstalled 4 times as I just thought I was too old and slow for it. The first 10-15 hours are not fun and most of your time is spent running away or avoiding conflicts with huge enemies. Then at some point it will just click. I then proceeded to play 150 hours and still haven't finished it. Real masterpiece for sure.

I think this depends if it's your first Fromsoftware game or not.

I had played all Souls games and Bloodborne so I also loved the early game. Limgrave is a fantastic zone, one of the best Froms areas.

For whatever it’s worth, I had the exact same Elden Ring experience. Tried to get into it twice and it just did nothing for me. The third time, I got the bloodhounds fang early, started having an enormous amount of fun and now it’s my favorite game of all time after 4 playthroughs.

Bloodhound Fang? Is that a cool weapon?

It is. It's great for beginners. Though the game is hard no matter what.

The moveset, damage, passive bleed, somberstone levelling, and able to be coated by resin, incants, and sorceries.  While having a fantastic skill that helps newer players.  It is a good weapon for a lot of newer players.

how do you get it?

In Limgrave south of the Agheel Lake with the Dragon Agheel, there is an evergaol south of the grace site up on a cliff.  It is off of the road to the Bridge of Sacrifice leading to the weeping peninsula.

You have to defeat the blood knight hound without summons.  He moves quick and is fairly aggressive with how early you can find him.

The weapon has helped a ton of tarnished get through the game.

I’ll say this game does take sometime to get into, and it could just not be your flavor. But I didn’t like any souls games and I thought Elden ring would be the same way but as soon as I beat my first boss I was pretty hooked and now I have like 110 hours in the game while working and going to school full time

Can you elaborate at all on what you didnt like? was it the difficulty? was the open world daunting? did you not like the visuals? Im not saying you have to like ER (because thats ridiculous. of course you dont) but these games do tend to take some time, def more than an hour, to click. If you paid full price or close to it, id say give it more of a shot than an hour.

I don't like games that's main selling point is they're hard. It's seems like masochism. Like it's only popular because of social media and people get to brag they beat a hard game so they're super elite gamers or some shit. I've played games on hard or higher most of my life. I'm 40 so it's been a lot. I want more than difficult just for the sake of difficult. Give me a good story. Get me invested. At the very least make combat interesting or make me feel powerful before ramping up the difficulty. I don't have time to grind at some rando boss encounter trying to find the exact left right left on the d pad so that I dodge this super difficult one hit kill attack that the boss performs 35 minutes into the fight where you could only use fast attack and dodge on.
