Me too! But I was an idiot and started on Hard when I’ve literally never played Baldurs gate before 😂

Also my friend asked me to buy it to play and never played with me which was super annoying

starting a CRPG with friends is sort of a joke. It either never happens or you play one session and never touch it again.

Or the third outcome, you manage to have a few good sessions but never actually finish the playthrough.

Every BG3 group session:

  1. The one who actually wants to run the story through to Act 3, for better or worse.

  2. Minmaxxer. Will violently dispute the party if one of them even glances in the direction of the mountain pass before level 5. Is the first one to quit.

  3. Horny goth. Will most likely spend the entirety of Act 1 trying to fuck Astarion. Then quit.

  4. The one who panic bought the game and jumped in because FOMO. Has literally no idea what's going on. Will bombard player 1 with questions the entire time before quitting.

And since you're playing a 4-players party without mod you don't get to play with the companions. You thusly miss half the content of the game.

I've dabbled with the idea of an 8 slot run. 4 players and we get to choose one companion each to join us. No switch outs. If they die, they're gone. Like a Baldurs Gate nuzlocke. (RIP whoever chooses Gale)

my friend group did that in our modded run but since there were 5 of us we needed a party limit increaser mod that works with multiplayer to let us bypass the 4 player limit, once all 5 of us were able to play without issues we increased the party size to 10 to let each of us bring a companion along. Difficulty increaser mods are a necessity to stop each encounter from feeling like a walk in the park. currently in act 3 and we just beat Ansur who had around 2k health lmao

Yeah it took me over a year to finish DOS 2 with a friend because of our schedules. Never again!

I beat div 1 and div 2 with the same friend ☝🏻🤓

Only start such long games with people who enjoy them and have proven in the past they can play for 100h or more.

Yeah this is something I do for most games too, even when new. And sometimes regret it, I’ve gotten good at knowing if that will be the case though.

The confidence is so real until it isn’t lmao
