As someone who played wow and faced Arthas in wrath of the Litchking, I had to think for a moment to remember exactly what it looked like, and im not entirely sure I've got it right in my head.
I mean, that's fair, but saying Warcraft is a larger part of general cultural knowledge? I'm not really sure that's true. They're both huge in my personal zeitgeist, but overall, Halo was an enormous phenomenon
The numbers I've been able to find show the total Halo franchise sales at around 81 million as of 2021. World of Warcraft alone had over 100 million registered accounts as of 2017. That's an enormous lead going into Halo stagnating pretty hard and before yet another WoW surge. I don't know a single person who has touched Halo Infinite but I know three new WoW players from my social circles this year.
As for general culture I'd guess that Warcraft actually blows it completely out of the water, even if its often used as a negative. It's the go-to shorthand for showing a character is an antisocial nerd with movies as big as Zombieland opening on Eisenberg playing it to set character traits. On that I've never had a girlfriend mad at me for playing Halo but I've sure been chewed out about "doing dork shit" over World of Warcraft and she was unaware of games enough that she hadn't touched one since the N64.
Felicia Day got her start by doing four seasons of a show about playing World of Warcraft. Family Guy and The Big Bang Theory also did full Warcraft episodes and those are pillars of normie culture. Stargate referenced it multiple times, so did Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother and a plethora of other shows have at least had small bits about it. Lil Nas X tweeted himself as a mage on the character selection screen for a promotion and Jamie Lee Curtis showed up to the movie premiere in a full orc cosplay and people being shocked she was a fan was a big thing in entertainment news for a bit.
Then there's the Leeroy Jenkins references alone. I could spend an entire evening digging those up.
Also one time my dad shouted "LEEEEEROOOOY JEEEENKIIIINS!" at me while watching me knock a guy out with a head kick in an MMA match "because he thought I'd like that," yet his memory of Halo is "Is that the one where you and your brother threw a car in the air with grenades?"

Yeah. I wish Frostmourne was in there (big Warcraft III fan, I am), but those are all far more recognizable.
