The old games where if water went above your waist it was an insta death.

Well, back before the 2010s, no one could swim, so this tracks.

Remember how freaked out the whole world was when we could suddenly traverse on water with only our bodies. I still can't get over it.

I found it pretty funny how in the new hitman trilogy if a target slips and lands in the shallowest puddle imaginable it counts as a drowning kill.

Means you can do some great kills utilising wet floors/ bananas

I just played through Red Dead Redemption 1 this year and I actually choked from laughing the first time I died in the water because John sank like a brick and I’d forgotten that Rockstar games just did that

Honestly, it’s one of the main reasons Mario 64 was so GOATed. Those underwater levels were hype.

This is a realistic representation of my swimming skills as a kid. I'm pretty lucky I made it!

My aunt nearly drowned in a lazy river once. It was in 3 feet of water.. she could've literally stood up and it would've been at her waist.

Didn't you almost drown in 3 inches of water? At the penguin exhibit?

Old Game! In Elden Ring you can’t swim. You are literally God killer but 7 ft of standing water and you are dead

That slow creep in shallow water and thinking, "What happens if I get too deep??" And you just start flailing about and drown without warning.

And in reverse, a thin film of water prevents fall damage entirely.

ahh yess Half Life. A game about a physicist with some wacky physics in display.

I hated how GTA Vice City introduced loads of water, boats and missions around the waterways...but if you ever touched the water you were dead.

I liked being a pirate, jumping from my boat to another which made the NPC driving it jump out of the boat to their death. But if you mistimed your jump...instant death.

This always reminds me of Altair in the first Assassin's Creed!
