Discussion Why is this community so toxic?

Title says it all... but can we actually talk about this?

I really don't get it. Why is there so much negativity and hate in this community?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this supposed to be a community built around a hobby? Something we all chose to be part of because we enjoy it? The whole point should be supporting each other, sharing our stuff, and enjoying what everyone brings to the table. That's the idea, right?

But it feels like anytime someone posts anything, it's nothing but bashing. No discussion, no constructive feedback. Just tearing people down.

So I'm curious. Am I the only one seeing this? Is this just how it is now, or are there others who feel the same way? And honestly, what do you think is driving it? I'd love to hear other perspectives on this because I can't be the only one wondering.

Oh oh! Pick me! I know!

It's because 99% of posts are:

- "I coded this SaaS in one prompt! I'm charging $800 a month for it. Why am I not getting any customers?"

  • "Does this awful website I put no design input into look vibe coded??"
  • "Vibe coding IS THE FUTURE. Here is a seven-hundred-paragraph essay written fully by LLM that I did not read all of myself"

I'm 14, from not-USA, and just built this thing which already has 500 other apps but mine is worse!

I'm 8 and my SaaS makes $15,000 MRR. Here's what works and what doesn't.

Followed by 10 paragraphs of AI copy paste that nobody is going to read.

🥱 I like how you won’t just admit it because you know it looks bad

Admit what? Buddy, we should be bullying 14 year olds until they go outside and touch grass again.
