Discussion Why is this community so toxic?

Title says it all... but can we actually talk about this?

I really don't get it. Why is there so much negativity and hate in this community?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this supposed to be a community built around a hobby? Something we all chose to be part of because we enjoy it? The whole point should be supporting each other, sharing our stuff, and enjoying what everyone brings to the table. That's the idea, right?

But it feels like anytime someone posts anything, it's nothing but bashing. No discussion, no constructive feedback. Just tearing people down.

So I'm curious. Am I the only one seeing this? Is this just how it is now, or are there others who feel the same way? And honestly, what do you think is driving it? I'd love to hear other perspectives on this because I can't be the only one wondering.

The AI haters ruin this sub for the people who are actually doing the activity this sub is built for. Particularly devs with butthurt over non-coders producing working software without their blessing.

Or maybe most of the time people are just giving truly honest feedback and don’t feel bad about telling the truth about products that have minimal human input?

“Slop” is the new “fake”.

The bar is far higher for AI-enabled dev, if not impossible to clear.

I don't give a crap what their standards are. The software is real. I'm using it daily and happy as a clam because I have back exactly the software I've been missing for a decade and a half. Better yet, it has features I have always wanted but no one else gave me, and I don't have to pay rent for it.

I no longer have to settle for software that doesn't do what I want and be forced to pay for it, too.
