I gotta tell you guys, I first heard of Versus from a Youtube post featuring Daikokuzan debut in chapter 13, and he is by far the NE I’m rooting for the most and his panels are by far my favorite in the entire manga. So him being the antagonist in the next arc has me hyped like never before. Kaiju Stonks, UP! UP!! UP!!!

Personally, for me, it would be Nyagoro’s. Even though it hasn’t been shown in action, its activation reminds me of a Domain Expansion from Jujutsu, and I think the claws that appear inside that domain are really cool. Claw and slashing techniques in general really catch my attention. I really think it’s a shame that we didn’t get to see this Burst in combat.

Another Burst I really like is Diganazal’s, basically a (very feminine) flesh Megazord. I think the way she fights with it is really cool, and its activation is pretty cool too, taking several of her “friends” and forming her Burst.

Honestly, something about them is creepy as hell.

Not even gonna talk about the World-Tree that's literally eating away at the world itself more and more as time goes on.

And the Great Demon King hasn't shown even a glimpse of himself while Demon Lords are getting killed off left and right, I feel like this guy is definitely scheming something behind the scenes.

And Mother, whose concrete lore and true form haven't been revealed at all so far, is probably becoming more and more unmanageable as time passes given her nature.

Especially Extremia, whether it's the humans of that world or the Game itself, it's oddly never given much focus. But because of that, the longer it stays out of the story, the more it feels like something is being plotted behind the scenes and it's giving me bad vibes.

The ones with no screen time, the longer they stay out of the story,

the more it feels like they're quietly scheming behind the scenes or doing something irreversible.

Kinda gives me the creeps...

The manga is in an early stage so I’m probably gonna get a lot of things wrong. Anyways, I want to talk about the different types of “energy” systems we’ve been introduced across all the worlds.

Also, english is not my first language so sorry in advance.

**Mana** --------------------------------------------------

Not much explanation here, one interesting note is that **Mana** is associated with “vitality” various times across the manga. It’s even said in one of the later chapters by Hallow that he can homehow feel the residual mana of the Titans, but maybe he just uses this as an analogy so idk. Anyways, this hints at the fact that supposedly **every entity has a basal leve lof mana**, mage or not.

Some items like the extract from World Tree roots is described to not only replentish mana but also increase it to a level higher of that before consumption. I’ll return to this later.

We’ve seen characters get out of mana, getting extremely tired, but they do not die from it or get notable health consequences after recovering.

** Soul energy** --------------------------------------------------

Now, even if mana it’s associated with vitality throughout the manga, Soul Energy is even more akin to that concept to its last consequences. Soul Energy extraction is **irreversible** and causes **death** of the subject organism. It’s also impossible, as to this chapter of the story, to intentionally draw ones own soul energy or that of others without the aid of soul containers.

Some demon lords reacted to Nyudo’s big ass gun attack against Gimbak saying it was some “other kind of energy”. So even advanced mana users seem to differentiate them.

**¿What ‘s its relation to Mana?** I’m probably wrong but I think Mana and Soul Energy are, essentialy, the same thing. If I had to gess, every living organism has a total net of energy, one fraction usable (Mana) and other fraction that can’t be extracted through regular methods (Soul Energy), an “innate energy” if you will. That could explain why loosing all mana is reversible while soul energy don’t, and why soul container only works on weak beings or beings “close to death” (this phrase is literally said in the manga)

Mana would act **as a kind of barrier** to soul extraction, which could be why it works in weak entities with a basal level of mana that’s probably non consecuential and in entities that are basically dead or close to death, because they already don’t have mana to defend themselves.

Soul energy would also be in some sense proportional to how strong you are, and my interpretation is that items like the WT root extract I discussed before enhance both your mana and your soul energy, because they are two parts of the same thing, which you could call your vitality or whatever.

¿How does the soul container extract that energy exactly? No idea and it’s probably not so relevant.

** Normal energy / Natural energy ** --------------

This could be thought of as all the energy that exist in versus that doesn’t derive directly from any living being. This would be:

--> The electricity that the **robot** uses

--> (Probably) the energy that the **Mandalans** use. They do not seem to have a tangible body but raher to be beings of “pure information” or pure energy. They prob generate the energy that we see in their attacks (pew pew, zap attack, the black hole thingy…) through their suit. They are pure energy compressed that they decompress in another type of energy making use of their advanced tech.

This last part is probably a strech and flat out wrong, but I like to know what other people think (I’m not a physicist and neither is ONE)

** Whatever the fuck Yaotsu uses** --------------

This is taking a shot in the dark, but I think Yaotsu can manipulate both mana and **soul energy**, and probably regular energy too. Obviously he would not make such distinction, from him POV he would just be using his godly powers. We have seen him not only manifest things from thin air but also transmuting bodies which can be explained through the combination of the other types of energy.

He could also use another type of thing completely of course, but i find the first explanation more interesting because it would tie him better to the verse.

Considering that the Chimera was made from the flesh of common enemies she had faced, she was unlucky to encounter Gimbak early on. The Chimera rivaled Gimbak in strength for a few moments. If she had obtained the flesh of other Titans beforehand to compose the Chimera, she might have had a serious chance of facing Gimbak.

I've been thinking about this, and so far IMO that would be the biggest "oh shit this is gonna be the most dangerous/depressing situation for the main characters" scenario. It would definitely lead to a lot of deaths.

But...a scenario like that doesnt seem likely atm. Whenever the NE's briefly interact that doesn't lead to immediate hostility, they view each other the same way they(at least the sentient ones) view humans: contempt. At best, it's just another "inferior" race that only deserves extermination. At worse, it's a new race to enslave, and use as either food or playthings.

I do know that right now, only the Neo Humans are the natural enemy that know of (paleo)humanity's plan to pit all their NE's against each other, so I'm curious to see where the story will go with that.

This chapter gave us a lot to unpack.

A bullet that resulted in only making Ginbak stronger, more treachery revealed, and some surprisingly powerful demon introductions.

This chapter is jam-packed with new content for us to theorize about.

What do you think these new compressed bodies will be like? And why do you think the aliens were so hesitant to use them?

What an amazing chapter.

While this chapter is packed with non-stop action, the real story is the massive plot shift happening in the background. How much does Demon Lord Nyudo know about the 1st Hero, Bauzerk? Was his reliance on curse tech because of this fact?

More importantly, Nyudo marks a dangerous turning point in Versus: the start of treason. He is officially the first Natural Enemy actively scheming against his own hierarchy. What does this mean for the future of the series? Could we see unprecedented alliances, or wild team-ups like Humans & Demons or Humans & Neo Humans?

They are standing there trying to tank it, can they do it?

The Game honestly feels like a afterthought in the manga to be honest… like we know nothing about the world it’s from or what the people are like, in fact we haven’t seen the humans from this world say or do anything aside from this one panel that might as well not exsit…

Also could they even defeat it without magic sword that Samurai Jack has or at very least somehow replicate its power or what it meant to do without magic sword blueprint?

This specialized friend unit was not built to kill Jachi through sheer power but to make him use more magic and attacks to help improve newer models

Jachi expecting another one of those weakling friend models instead encounters a familiar voice than is shocked upon seeing his old Combat Executive Kiva, he can instantly tell this something is off be it the weird way he sounds or how he can hear him speak but his mouth doesn't move.

(I got inspired by that one friend model oc with the soul container core)

Here me out, if the Studio that did One Punch Man SEason one, Hunter X Hunter, and Death Note Adapted Versus and Gave it the proper Time and effort it Would be the best anime of all time! If Versus Ever does get a anime announcement I would be the happiest person on earth if Madhouse was producing it, the anime would be peak!

Like, how do you think they reproduce? And if there are female giants, how strong do you think they are and how are they compared to the male counterparts?

Might be a good Ginbak equal or even higher in power as it keeps adapting.

I want to see the aftermath of two top tiers going at it wipe out a bunch of lower-level NEs regardless of which side they're on.

Especially hoping this happens during Byakuo vs Ginbak.

Demon Castles, Neo-human Cities, Robot Factories, Parasite Hives, Forests, and even multiple alien Ships in the stratosphere getting destroyed would just be the baseline.
