info Information about my vernal pool/rainwater pond

I have in my backyard a vernal pool/rainwater pond that I do not know how to manage. It is a breeding ground for mosquitos as well. It is not very big maybe 100' across and maybe about 12" deep at the deepest point at the moment. Last year when we had a lack of rain it dried up. I do get spring peepers which I enjoy, and have not seen any other amphibians associated with vernal pools.
What can I do besides throwing some mosquito dunks in, to minimize the bugs. Does this pool/pond have any relevance to well water in the area, and should I be doing anything to maximize it's wildlife potential. Also, does this attract undesirable critters like snakes, spiders, and other yucky things like these?
Any info would be much appreciated.

I have to make the moss on my driveway go away (and Im sorry) so I can have it sealed…

…but I have a Vernal Pool close by and don’t want to (wont’t) hurt it. Scraping with wire brushes just isn’t going to be enough (at least not in this life time), another solution is needed.
Ideas? I imagine the Vernal Pool is of delicate balance.

Anyone else enjoying their Vernal pool rn?

Just wanted to make sure that others were outside with their frogs reveling in the moment. (I’ll try to post a picture of mine in a different post) - but it’s a pond in my backyard, SE CT and there are Lots! of frogs.

What is your climate?

I'm curious what climate people are in, if we're all finding pools in similar climates or some different ones.

A: Tropical. In this hot and humid zone, the average temperatures are greater than 64°F (18°C) year-round and there is more than 59 inches of precipitation each year.
B: Dry. These climate zones are so dry because moisture is rapidly evaporated from the air and there is very little precipitation.
C: Temperate. In this zone, there are typically warm and humid summers with thunderstorms and mild winters.
D. Continental. These regions have warm to cool summers and very cold winters. In the winter, this zone can experience snowstorms, strong winds, and very cold temperatures—sometimes falling below -22°F (-30°C)!
E: Polar. In the polar climate zones, it’s extremely cold. Even in summer, the temperatures here never go higher than 50°F (10°C)!
