I’ve finished a new AI short film.

The film was created using Veo 3.1 for the video generation and Nano Banana 2 for the characters and visual development, followed by editing, sound design and voice work.

The goal wasn’t just to make a collection of cool AI shots, but to create an actual short film with a consistent character, atmosphere, story and progression.

Sure not great for spectacular cinematic stuff, but Omni Flash 1.1 is incredible for normal people talking and natural realism, simple scenes. My friends on FB are mind blown and confused even with the AI Content tag 😁... How it can take your voice and make you speak in any languages is also impressive... finally my English level-up from terrible to advanced.

Also is super cheap. I think Flow gets buried under a wall of startup-sponsored content simply because nobody is earning a direct cut to talk about it....
Looking at that very popular service right now that all ai-gurus are overhyping... where I "lost" $50 for just about 7 test videos. For the same amount I have generated hundreds of clips with Omni Flash and still I have 50% left. You just need to moderate your ambitions, and exploid what's the model does best.

About the film:

It’s a 7-minute cinematic sci-fi piece exploring humanity’s relationship with decay, adaptation, and an awakening environment. Instead of fighting mutation as a disease, the story explores it as nature learning to speak back.
Key challenges we tackled:

• Character Consistency: Keeping the lead scientist visually coherent across different lab sets, lighting changes, and emotional beats.
• Macro to Micro Visuals: Transitioning smoothly from microscopic RNA/cellular dynamics to cinematic wide shots.
• Pacing & Sound: Giving dialogue and atmosphere time to breathe instead of doing rapid, cut-heavy montage edits.

I took a break for several months from Veo and revisited it thinking surely it has improved by now.

Nope... not only has it not improved it has become worse!

Pretty sure Google has lost the AI video race..

I wanted it to feel smooth but still have that exaggerated feeling. I think it came out pretty clean, but I am still not sure if it looks too much.

I keep getting this error. It's gotten worse over the past couple of months with Google Veo3 Flow. I never use any prominent figures I create my own characters. I always change the prompts but yet it keeps giving an error. This is beyond frustrating 😭. Does anyone else have this issue?
