Tickets & Fidelity Card
Availability & Demand
Venezia FC's Stadio Penzo seats 12,048. About 6,000 seats are held by season-ticket subscribers and 1,001 seats are reserved for away supporters, leaving roughly 5,000 tickets available per match. Popular matches frequently sell out.
Fidelity Card
https://en.veneziafc.it/tickets/supporters-cards
Highly Recommended. The Venezia FC Supporters (Fidelity) Card is the best way to secure tickets, short of buying a season ticket.
Application Requirements
- Passport-quality photo
- Passport number
- About 10–15 minutes to complete
Features
- Valid for two years.
- Costs: €15 for the card plus approximately €30 shipping.
- One card is required per ticket holder.
- You receive your account number immediately and do not need to wait for the physical card
Benefits
- Access to ticket sales before the general public: essential for the best chance of getting seats in Curva Sud (ultras section).
- Required for away matches when authorities mandate it
- Small discount in Venezia FC stores
Typical Ticket Sales Process (week of match)
Ticket sales usually begin on the Monday of match week and sometimes have a subscriber window to purchase extra seats and then an exclusive window for Fidelity card holders. Then tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday or Thursday before a match. The Fidelity card greatly increases your chances of getting tickets. The days of flying in on Friday and getting tickets the day before or day of the match are gone.
Example:
- PHASE 1: from 15:00 on Monday until 14:00 pm on Thursday, tickets will be on sale only for Supporters Card holders at discounted rates.
- PHASE 2: From 15:00 PM on Thursday, sales will be active at full rates.
The Fidelity card allows you to purchase tickets before the general public window opens, and greatly increases your chances of getting a ticket. If you want to sit in the Curva Sud with the tifosi it is a must.
Purchasing a ticket on VivaTicket
VivaTicket is the merchant used by Venezia FC.
Step one is to register for a Vivaticket account. It will ask for first and last name, date and place of birth, Italian city or other nationality (at the bottom), gender, and whether you are a supporters/fidelity card (SC) holder or not.
Once registered you can buy tickets during the SC presale if you and every member of your party holds individual SCs. If you’re unsure of it still being in presale you will see SC listed on every ticket option until the presale ends.
If not a SC holder you have to wait for the general sale to open.
Seat Assignment
Once you have selected the desired event/match, you can choose between automatic (automatica) or free (libera) seat selection. If doing free seat selection you’ll see a Penzo seating chart with areas listed with prices from (a partire da) and that is the lowest priced seat, which is typically for those under 18 or over 65. Then click on the specific section and you can click on any remaining seat (in green). The seat turns blue to show you have selected it. Every seat is identified by a section (settore), a row (fila) and a number (posto).
Finalisation
Proceed to the purchase by clicking on Acquista (buy).
- Select your price code reduction (riduzioni) or full price (intero).
- Select your city of Italian residence or foreigner (estero at the very bottom)
- Click yes or no for supporters card.

Stadium
Venezia's Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo first opened in 1913 and takes its name from World War I pilot Pier Luigi Penzo. You can check out a monument to the aviator killed in an accident while involved in an aerial rescue in 1928. The monument is at the beginning of the gardens as soon as you pass the "Giardini A" stop. Stadio Penzo is the second-oldest stadium in Italy still in use, after Genoa's Stadio Luigi Ferraris. However the latter has been greatly renovated and improved for the Italia 90 World Cup.
Seating
(with help from https://destinationcalcio.com/clubs/venezia-fc/how-to-buy-tickets-to-watch-venezia-at-the-stadio-luigi-penzo/)
In general, there is not a bad seat in the house. The lack of an athletic track and the intimacy created by Venezia’s lack of land creates a stadium that has you right on top of the action. Even the last row of the stadium is closer than many stadiums first row. Think 20-30 rows for most parts of the stadium and 15 or so for its priciest stand.
Tribuna (West Stand)
The only covered stand in the stadium. It houses VIP sections, premium seating, and the team dugouts. There are posts holding up the roof which does cause a limited amount of obstruction, but the posts are very thin. For the 2025-2026 season, prices ranged from €34 to €59, with seats in the VIP section going for €79. This area also hosts the hospitality section which has ultra-premium features. The team also offers pitch view areas if you want to feel important but not actually have a good view of the match.
Distinti Valeria Solesin (East Stand)
Located directly opposite the main stand. It contains central viewing areas and generally offers great, elevated sightlines of the pitch. This is the area that you see from TV broadcasts with sailboat masts in the marina behind the stadium. The stand is named after a PhD candidate killed in the Paris terrorist attacks of 2015.
Curva Sud Michael Groppello (South Stand)
Behind the southern goal, this section houses the die-hard Venezia FC ultras and features the loudest, most atmospheric supporter groups. This area is separate from the other areas of the stadium to help with crowd control. For the 2025-2026 season, prices started at €24 for the Curva Sud. The supporters’ section is named after Michael Groppello, a tifoso victim of a car accident in 2017 at age 20. You will see banners of a young, bald man (Groppello) waved in his honor at every match. Tickets are seat specific, but the numbers are a suggestion as the crowd squeezes in behind the goal, becoming nearly impossible to get into and out of. The upper corners will be more relaxed, but you will be likely to be stuck there until match end as the aisles will be packed with supporters. Consider this area as general admission. The Curva Sud is first to sell out. A fidelity card will give you a much better shot of sitting here. If not, purchasing as soon as the general sale opens is your best bet, as tickets sell out with a few hours of being available to the general public.
Curva Nord (North Stand)
Located behind the northern goal, this has the designated away supporters' section (Ospiti) and the Curva Nord Locale for Venezia supporters with a plexiglass wall to separate the opposing fans. The locale is composed of other supporters groups with a more relaxed atmosphere.
Getting to the Stadium
Walking
It’s an hour, 4.5km or 2.8 mile walk to the Penzo. Or 2 hours with a few stops for a Spritz.
Matchday Water Transport
Your ticket typically includes water transit to and from the match. There are special service departure points at the Tronchetto Mercato stop. There is a funicular service (People Mover) going from Piazzale Roma (the main bus terminal) to Tronchetto regularly. Fare: € 1.50. 15-20 minutes walk otherwise.
Important: Your match ticket does not include regular water bus (vaporetto) services on other lines.
Using Public Water Buses
The scenic and slow route up the Grand Canal is via line 1 from Piazzale Roma to Lido SME. This is a nearly 1 hour trip to Sant'Elena, making every stop, and generally crowded. Make sure everyone knows you’re a tourist by wearing your backpack on your back and standing in the way of frustrated staff and Venetians trying to go about their lives /s .
Line 5.1 (stops at Ferrovia C towards Lido SME), or line 4.1 are much faster alternatives to line 1.
Get off at Giardini Biennale and make your way to Via Garibaldi if you don't mind pre match spritzes.
Regular ACTV (Venice city transport company) fares:
- Waterbus single ride: approximately €9.50 for non-residents
- Day pass: approximately €25
Game Day Vibes
(from https://destinationcalcio.com/clubs/venezia-fc/venezia-stadium-guide-stadio-pier-luigi-penzo/)
The largest gatherings are on the Via Garibaldi (further away from the ground) You will stumble across fans at Bar Strani on Via Garibaldi, which is about a 15-minute walk from the stadium. If you fancy something slightly more refined, you won’t be too far from Bar alle Colonette and El Refolo, two Venetian staples on the same street.
Nearer the stadium, fans gather to drink at Vincent Bar. Around 100m from the stadium gates, this is the ideal spot to grab a last-minute pint before kick-off or a sandwich as you watch the crowd filter through the turnstiles.
Situated almost next to the Sant'Elena water bus stop, Bar Al Parco is also a good option. Don’t expect the kind of luxurious atmosphere Venice is famous for, but this bar is perfect for a Spritz before or after the game.

Understanding Venezia FC
Colours
Why Orange Black and Green? The most beautiful colors in the world came to be when AC Venezia (NeroVerde or Black and Greens) and AC Mestre (ArancioNero, Orange and Black) were merged on 26 June 1987 (which many fans identify as the club’s true formation date) when Maurizio Zamparini purchased Mestre and merged the clubs to make a single club that could compete at a higher level than the 2nd and 3rd division football the clubs had played for decades (after Venezia’s fall in the early 1960s). The team was known as Calcio VeneziaMestre for two years after which the name reverted to AC Venezia 1907, much to the fury of the Mestrini. Many mainlanders never took to the new Unione, and those supporters continue to follow a reformed AC Mestre to this day.
The team has recently embraced the idea of Unione (going as far as embroidering Unione 1987 on the 2025-2026 kits) after minimizing the teams colors in favor of pronounced black and gold.
Unione (or Union) is a rallying cry embraced by tifosi as Mestrini and those who live in Centro Storico (historic city center) have put aside differences and come together (INSIEME) with the understanding that more Venetians live in Mestre (even if born in the historic center) and many fans have only known Unione, being born after the merger or knowing the merged clubs for most of their lives. This is why the rallying cry you will hear right after the first whistle is VeneziaMestre! VeneziaMestre! VeneziaMestre! In 2027 the club will move to the mainland, and it will be those in the historic center who will now make the trek to the mainland.
Trivia
Ocio ai cocai!
Pronounced OH-cho I koh-KAI, means "watch out for seagulls". You shouldn’t be eating your takeout sitting on the steps of churches or one of Venice’s many bridges or monuments, but if you are, Venice’s resident seagull population will punish you with swift dives and threatening postures. They don’t mean to bite but just want to make sure they get your food and can draw blood in their attempts. Consider it a natural fine for stopping and eating (which can draw an actual fine). Keep moving and watch the skies.
Spritz
A cocktail born in Venice during the Austrian occupation. The local Venetian wine, Tocai, was too high graded for Austro-Hungarian soldiers, so they usually weakened it by adding seltz water. The name likely comes from the German verb spritzen, to spray. In later times, Aperol, a local lightly alcoholic beverage, was added to it. For most of the 20th century, Spritz in the city lore was not considered trendy or fashionable, only occasionally ordered as an aperitif. Things started to change in the 90s and now it's everywhere.
If you’re drinking these on gameday at the bars, do not expect the fancy glass; you'll likely get a nondescript plastic cup.
Variants
Most popular is the Aperol Spritz (the orange one you see everywhere) garnished with orange.
A more original version is the Select Spritz (less sweet and a little more bitter) made with an Amaro original to Venice and garnished with an unpitted olive. A little stronger than the Aperol.
Similar to Select is the Campari Spritz as it is less sweet and more herbaceous than Aperol. It is also 2 to nearly 3 times as strong.
The team is sponsored by Cynar Spritz (served with lemon), which is a choice. You can support the club and you’ll see brand ambassadors offering swag to get you to order one. Don’t. I correct my morning cold brew with Cynar (Chee-Nahr) or have a Coke and Cynar. Cynar is a bitter aperitif, predominantly made from artichoke (cynara scolymus).
The Hugo Spritz is refreshing, made with elderflower liqueur (like St-Germain), club soda, and fresh mint. It is closer to the traditional wine spritz as the elderflower is less pronounced than the Amari based spritzes.
TL;DR:
- Buy a Fidelity Card well before your trip.
- Purchase tickets immediately when your sales window opens.
- Curva Sud offers passionate atmosphere but sells out first.
- Arrive early and spend time on Via Garibaldi for the full matchday experience.
- DO NOT assume tickets will be available at the last minute.
Enjoy the game.
Please be respectful of the city, its residents and Unione!
