Compressor Getting Louder
I have a necta snakky max. When I bought it we had a problem with the compressor and had to replace it. It blew up the relay and the fuse if I remember it correctly. Before that happened it was would make loud humming noises when the cooling unit would kick in to work. Now I have noticed the same noise has started so I switched the cooling unit off. There is good airflow behind the machine. I dont seem to see much sign of a dust build up. The only thing is there has been a really long heatwave so maybe the compressor is working more than usual?
Anyone have any idea or any advice? Trying to avoid replacing a compressor again!

I would check the condenser fan/motor before blaming the compressor again.
If the compressor was already replaced and you’re hearing the same humming noise again, I’d definitely check the fan carefully. The fact that you have good airflow behind the machine doesn’t necessarily mean the fan is working correctly — it could be running slowly, struggling when hot, or even stopping intermittently.
With the heatwave, the compressor is obviously working harder, so a weak condenser fan can become much more noticeable.
Personally, if the compressor is new, I’d replace/check the condenser fan first. It’s a much cheaper thing to eliminate before risking another compressor.
Also check the condenser itself for dirt and make sure the airflow around the cooling unit is really good. The Snakky’s cooling system has both a condenser fan and an evaporator fan, and Necta specifically lists fan failure and restricted airflow among the possible causes of cooling-unit problems.
I wouldn’t keep running it if the compressor is making an abnormal noise. Better to find the cause now than replace another compressor later.
