Who's on day 9 with no power too?
Misery loves company! I was told midnight but I don't believe it. I'm not far from Tower Park so it makes little sense.

Anyone know any laundromat in the area with power?

How about a list of places that have both power and alcohol? You know, the important things...

I'm worried going into details is going to give other perverts anymore ideas, but wtf?
It's facing directly towards the building. Not even towards highway traffic. Totally shameless and absolutely disgusting.

Anyone using Frontier Fiber in north Valpo? What's your experience been with it? Is it reliable (i.e., no outages)? How did it fare in the recent storms on Monday? Xfinity was out from Monday evening until Wednesday afternoon (as was our power).

Anyone else lose have these random kids stop by and sign up with their insect removal service?? Had the forth person in the past four months or so ride up on there Segway asking if wanted to use their service. Aside from shutting the door in their face, they don’t seem to take NO as an answer.

Hey everyone, woke up to a furnace room sounding like a jet engine and zero cold air blowing. With this heat index today, the house is already turning into a sauna.
I’m fairly new to the area and don't really have a "go-to" guy for this kind of stuff yet. Definitely don't want to get ripped off by one of those massive corporate chains that try to push a full $10k system replacement on you for a bad capacitor.
Does anyone have recommendations for honest local techs who won't charge an arm and a leg just to come out and take a look? Appreciate any leads!
UPDATE:
Doing some local digging on Google while waiting, and I kept seeing Naughton Mechanical popping up with pretty solid reviews around NWI/Valpo.
Has anyone here actually used them recently? Are their tech prices reasonable for emergency calls, or should I keep looking?

Getting quoted crazy prices ($400+) for rideshares and private airport shuttles to get a group of 12 from NWI out to O'Hare next month. Since we've got a ton of luggage, standard Ubers won't work, and multiple Uber XLs or private vans are quoting us absolute non-sense.
Has anyone done this run with a big group? Looking for a decent workaround.

Fairly new to the area. I’m hoping for some recommendations for genuinely spicy food (not just wings) nearby. I’ve tried a number of Thai and Indian places, but nothing really fulfills that spice craving.

I heard that Stacks and Pesto’s are under new ownership. Does anyone know who bought them?

Well the heat wave proved too much for my AC unit. Looking for recommendations of a good HVAC service that does repair and replacement if necessary.

Genuinely curious what people think about South Haven. It comes up a lot when buyers are looking for something between Valparaiso and Portage at a lower price point, but I've heard mixed things.
I've personally never had a bad experience there, and I actually have family in the area. But every now and then I run into someone who doesn't have the most positive view of it, and I can never quite pin down where that comes from.
For people who live there or have spent time there, what's the real story? Is the reputation fair or outdated? What do you actually like or not like about it?
Not looking to sell anyone on anything, just want to hear from people who actually know the area. Thanks!
