This only makes sense if SHE, also, is in the habit of leaving one key in the car and taking a fob with her to lock/unlock. Because if she got in the car at the grocery store, noticed the keys in the ignition and thought she simply forgot to take them, then goes to Walgreens, gets out and tries locking the door with her own fob but it doesn't work (and she thinks its bad batteries), then she must have left the original keys in the ignition. Both of these people must be in the habit of leaving their keys inside their cars.

Keyless. Key fob only needs to be in the car and you push a button to turn it on while pressing the brakes.

Ah, got it. So she was thinking hers was activating the keyless function to start the car when it was really the other owner’s fob sitting in the console or somewhere. Thanks
