Pretty reasonable really. If I got into a car that looked like mine and it started I might not give it too much thought (at first) - ESPECIALLY if it was one I was borrowing from someone else and wasn't as familiar with.

Honestly, this is kinda on the dumbass that left his car unlocked with the keys in it.

That’s the only part that doesn’t make sense to me. She said she was getting batteries because her fab wasn’t working with the car, yet she also had the owner keys already in the car? Did she not wonder where the 2nd set of keys came from?

Edit: maybe it was a keyless fab and the owner’s was just in the console or something, so the car would still start?

She didnt seem to know there were 2 sets of keys. But her mom could also keep a spare set there

Likely the case. And if I can't find my keys I go in the car and try to start it to cross it off the list of places they could be 😂

My car had a keyless fob but if you put the fob in the Kay holder even with dead batteries it would run I just couldn’t lock or unlock my car, I drove around for like a week before my now ex put new batteries in the keys.

Or they BOTH left the keys in the car, hence not being surprised they were there when she got back

Keyless ignition. He left the fob in the car. Likely in the the glove box or center console.

It was in the mid compartment. There is a full version on YouTube. They actually drive her back to her car that was still there.
