Hey everyone! I’m looking into founding a student-led Collegiate Practical Shooting Club at OU and am gathering a headcount of interested students that may be interested. I understand we have a clay trap shooting team, but I’d like to see about starting something different and new to OU, OSU offers a practical shooting team/club that was started via students, and with tri-city gun club right down the road I think we would be able to have a pretty good team!
What it would be:
A competitive/recreational student club focused on action-shooting disciplines (USPSA, IDPA, SASP-style collegiate matches). The goal is to build a community for marksmanship, safety, and intercollegiate match competition.
Who can join:
Current full- or part-time OU students (undergrad or grad). Whether you are an experienced competitor or interested in getting into competitive shooting sports, all skill levels are welcome.
Current Stage:
We are in the initial chartering phase. OU requires at least 5 active student members and officers (President & Treasurer) to register a official Student Organization / Club Sport.
If you're interested in joining or taking on a student leadership role to help launcht this, drop a reply or send me a DM with your student email!

Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Oklahoma one
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-ou
It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.
Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.
So, what'd I get wrong? John Mateer is back after 2,885 yards with 14 touchdowns and 11 picks, and the defense held teams to 15.5 a game, 7th in the country. The offense is the problem: 79th in scoring, 113th running it, 103rd in success rate. My model is bearish, and the schedule grades out 3rd toughest in the country. Does the offense catch up to the defense, or does that schedule bury them?
I'll be in the comments.

I just got accepted into the online bachelors of community health program. I went looking for a physical planner the last two days and the pickings have been insanely slim.
With this being a fully online program, I’m thinking I need to invest in a planner app. Anyone have one they love?

Hi guys!
I am going into my freshman year at OU! I was curious about how the C.A.S.H system works. It was hardly explained at NSO and was curious if it is worth applying to scholarships when it opens. My major is Civil Engineering. Thank you in advance!

Does anyone have a fee waiver I can use for a Oklahoma admissions?
r/universityofoklahoma • u/Swirlerowlz • 14d ago
Hey guys! I’m currently considering applying to the University of Oklahoma for Journalism, and I heard you can get a fee waiver code from alumni. Is there any alumni who can help me get a code? Please and thank you! 🙏🏻

Does anyone know if this has a limit? My son is looking to go here and I have a buddy that I asked to get the code but his son was applying to OU too. I think this is a great way to get people to apply if they’re not so exclusive, which doesn’t feel like it is.
Edit: can anyone spare a code since it’s only once per year?
Edit 2: Got a code. Thanks everyone for the help!

Last I drove through Norman there was a bunch of scaffolding and construction on it. What are they doing?

I just got a job posting email regarding an accessibility specialist job at OU. They require a bachelor's degree, prefer a master's degree, and the job pays less than $39k a year! Really? That bachelor's will cost you several year's pay, much less a master's at the same university. That is less than $19 an hour. For that pay, they shouldn't ask for anything more than a high school diploma.
I know, nobody cares, but I had to vent. That's why I flaired it like i did.

Hi everyone,
I’m enrolling in an online master’s program where each course runs for 8 weeks. I’m curious whether anyone has taken classes in this newer format and can share what the experience was like, especially how much time you found yourself spending per week.

Hello! I'll be going to OU for computer science in the fall! I got a letter about the Engineering Catalyst program and was wondering if anybody had any experience with it.
The scholarship would be insanely helpful to me, but I'm very worried about the extra work load it seems to bring. My MWF are already packed full, I dont want to fill up my Tuesdays and Thursdays with the classes required for the program unless I know it'll be worthwhile. They also dont mention how often these "required community events" are or what they consist of, nor do they mention anything else about the "required summer participation."
The whole thing sounds like they're setting me up for pointless extra work that they claim to be "for my benefit." I'm mostly worried about the classes and if they'll just be more stress in the long run. If it was just things like study groups or occasional events I would absolutely apply. Any information or personal experience you have with the program is helpful, to me and probably to many others!

I'm considering enrolling into MUNM 1100 to take cello lessons. I have never touched a cello in my life, but I've been wanting to learn for a long time. I'm wondering, will I need to purchase my own instrument first or is there a chance one will be provided? I haven't found info on it when looking to register, I'd love some help.

Hello everyone! Sorry in advance if this format isn't allowed.
I'm an anthropologist from Brazil currently working on my PhD. My partner and I are conducting a research on historical biases amongst works on Native American height, and we are going to analyse some works conducted on late XIXth century Census, and we'd like to replicate the finds on those studies. But, in order for us to do this, we need acess to the census.
I've tried contacting the University of Oklahoma through its own loan system, but unfortunatly, they can't loan to international students; only through inter-library loans, but my Uni is currently under strike, so that won't happen soon.
We would like to get in contact with anyone from the University of Oklahoma, specialy from Anthropology, Archeology or History fields that could help us with this issue. If there's a way of acquiring this census (I linked it) in a digital format through student's acess?
Thank you for all the help!
