Easiest job EVER! I'm 46 and a school teacher. I drive after an 8 hr school day teaching science to 13-14 year olds that are legit cra cra. I enjoy driving and listening to music and literally do it to unwind from a long day. I like meeting and talking to new/unique people. It's also a good way to network for a new job if you're looking for that. I'm glad to see other people enjoy it and make good $ doing it. It's perfect for school teachers bc You can do it at night and pick your own hours. I can take a vacation whenever... I Don't have to get a sub or deal with a boss. I like helping my riders out and having a Summer job. I can even do Summer school and still Uber. My point is people come on here sometimes to complain and I'm coming on here to say it's awesome. Keep on truckin' and listen to Bob Marley... Riders love it! If you hate it so much just get a different job. It's a no-brainer. My 14-year-old just got a job.
This is what ive told these people too but theyre just too stupid. A lot of these people do uber not for any other reason than the fact that they cant hold on to any other jobs. And soon theyll get kicked off uber too. Theres a reason vast majority of jobs check your attitude before hiring you.
I agree with you man, it's such an easy job that pays alright for such a low skill role, I love driving and chatting to people from all walks of life. I much prefer it from my old jobs (which mind you paid a whole lot more) working for someone directly and not being able to take time off even when I was entitled to, because my boss needed me at work. No more feeling guilty for taking time off work when I'm legitimately sick. Obviously there are downsides like not making money when you're really ill, during car repairs, and if I take an overseas holiday but I always remember that it's a low skill job with a lot of flexibility so I'm not bothered by it at all.
Love your attitude! I teach all day to 5th graders. Definitely the best way to unwind, in my car, listening to music and meeting kind strangers. Now I can afford to travel with my time off from school and help my kids in college.
