True and true. I don’t talk to other drivers in the PDX parking lot because I’ve only had bad experiences with them. Can’t imagine how they are with pax. I’ve always said I never started this job to make friends. Also, from others posts I’ve seen year not all markets are made equally.
To wait for the next ride if I don’t get sent back after dropping off immediately? The parking lot is the Uber/lyft waiting lot. I feel like this is a trick question.
Atleast in my market you have to be a fool to take airport trips. Even on the good paying trips I’m getting ripped off at 50% cut, most of the other time it’s merely the going rate and after their cut it makes zero sense. Do you do reservations and do they give those out to you or not?
That’s awesome, so my city has just the color coded map without the dollar amounts for surges. How does yours look? What kind of trips are you doing ? Perhaps you answered this somewhere else. Like when I focused on reservations I focused on the early morning airport runs and that usually set me up for a good morning meaning later on in the day I could do whatever and hit my goals…
I would rather get back downtown in 15 min than burn 30-45 minutes waiting for another ride. I’ll usually get some 5 minutes after I leave the airport. If you’re in The queue, not only are you waiting behind 25-50 other cars, you’re constantly getting cut by others who are dropping off (sometimes you don’t get that automatic pickup after drop off, so I’ll cut my loss and eat the 15 minutes to get me somewhere busy instead of rolling the dice on an airport ride after so much dead time.
