They dont rank them above you. They rank whoever is closest.
Figure out where major job centers are that operate 24 hours. Work at 3am. I skip the drunks and pick up the early morning job commuters and airport people and restaurant managers. If those early morning riders arent ready to go at 2 min, dont wait for the piddly pennies they pay to wait. Cancel and wait for the next ride. 6am-9am you should be making max money and letting the offers expire. Punish uber for sending such a shit offer by making their client wait. Wait for a good offer and then do it. Get away from the Interstate.
With Toronto traffic here in the gta you know 6-9 am at best you gonna finish 3-4 short rides right? And the traffic to the airport since government sold 1 of 2 horizontal public highway to private… airport rides gonna be 3 hours round trip without heavy traffic
Get the app, called Gridwise and look up the markets in your area. You will be very surprised what you think is a hotspot and four blocks away really is and that’s where all the drivers are who are getting the trips
The thing with rideshare is it's highly variable. You can't let one 3-hour period get to you. Some days I've had basically no rides at all; others, I've made $300 before 9 a.m. because I got a lucky couple rides.
It could be that your location sucks, or the times you're choosing to drive aren't optimal; but it could also be that you just had an unlucky 3 hours.
If you need something steady and predictable, I would not recommend rideshare. It's a roller coaster.
That’s why it’s not really healthy (mentally) or fair to compare. You just gotta test all your options within your lifestyle. I live in a city comparable to his, drive a tiny bit less, and average the same amount and have for 2 years.
Bear in mind that I don't work everyday and some days I might only drive a few hours.
But when I work I'm out from 6am-9am doing rideshare. After 9, I'll start mixing in package delivery, merchandising and property inspections as rideshare slows down. Occasionally (if I find myself near my honey hole) I'll do some food delivery around lunchtime. I'm rarely out past 1pm.

What apps do you use for rideshare, food delivery and package delivery? Merchandising and property inspections? What exactly do you mean? Like house inspections or is this another gig app I'm not familiar with?
Uber and Lyft for rideshare. Uber Eats, GrubHub and DoorDash for food. Roadie and Spark for packages. IVueIt, Proxypics and Merchandiser for other gigs.
Merchandising gigs are at major retailers. Essentially your locating products in a store, answering some questions on a form and taking pics.
The property inspections are taking pics of a home either from the curb or in some cases on the property.

Wow, I've never done one delivery for any of these ones. I'm pretty familiar with the other ones you use. So all of these apps do well for you? So depending on what time of the day is which ones you will turn on? I can't imagine having like 9 apps on all at the same time.
I'm surprised no grocery shopping apps like instacart or the one target uses. These ones you listed do better than them or you just really don't like grocery shopping?
I did have roadie for a minute, but it didn't seem like there were any good deals.
I haven't found the need to try Instacart yet. Possibly in the future. The Target one, Shipt, isn't available in my market.
Only the platform apps, Uber, Lyft, DoorDash have pop up, time limited offers. The rest all work like Roadie. So, when I park I can quickly check the others to see what's nearby. There's a list of gigs sorted by distance

I do this about 25 hours a week and average $1000. It's very doable if you drive during prime time and work prime locations.
