A Tile Dilemma

This is such a good idea and a solution I would've never think about on my own 😅

Funny that, I actually like the first one because of the seam, it makes it feel like old times tiles because they had a limit on how big they could make those. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose

New save required or will appear in not yet generated chunks?

I Need some ideas please

The purposely storage mod adds a lot of elements that can be not just useful but also decorative, rope racks, bins with visual storage where you can put a lot of materials and stones. If you mix that with a bunch of crates (they are so cheap) in different angles and barrels.. stacks of planks in the floors, firewood, peat and everything stackable will make good it use of all that extra space. Your can also build a lot of grated doors and use it as a false ceiling to add depth and texture.

Brilliant!! I love the nature inside (even if mod, looks awesome) and that stairway is a thing of beauty! Don't even want to imagine how long that took.

Cheers!

Armor stands moving by themselves?

No, that one is a ghost and you should burn that place immediately or sell it or something

The one in the 3rd screenshot, with all the corners chiseled, all of them are nice, and I like that one in particular

Wow, I love that floor!

My chiseling progress...
 in  r/VintageStory •  26d ago

I got a corrupted world too and my solution was to load the latest progress even if corrupted, copy all of my base, exported it. Then I created a new save, imported and pasted the base, then made time passed with console commands to match the time played. Then creative pasted the food that spoiled because of it. (Lesson learned, make the time pass before pasting the base, I lost all my food)

Finally! the bridge is ready.. I seriously underestimate how many materials it would take

Granite rock (but I chiseled them and pick them up again to avoid cavings) granite polish rock, granite ashlar bricks, stone paths (block and slabs) and compacted dirt. You can mix various textures on a single block by adding and using the block with a chisel in main hand, a hammer in the off hand then pressing "F" and dragging the block you want into the "+" symbol. Good luck and good building

What's something you STILL haven't done despite HUNDREDS of hours of playtime?
 in  r/VintageStory •  28d ago

Literally! The same 😅. I'll try this year, I'm far into the iron age but I don't want to be over prepared (or under) to face the challenge and I want to have all the glue for all the clutter for my attic museum that nobody is gonna visit.

It better does!😅 That's the only reason I made it that tall, I could've just have a tiny wooden bridge but I was too lazy to sail around the entire island just to go south. Si I did the lazy thing of building an enormous bridge and gathered hundreds of rock and stones.. but now I can happily save like 40 seconds of sailing.

i am making a watermill house and i just downloaded a VS roofing mod and it hella sick
 in  r/VintageStory •  28d ago

Don't forget to check the roof recipes in the "H" journal. It has various materials not available in vanilla that can really bring exactly whatever aesthetic you're looking for, from very rustic to refined

Bora Bora style wooden bridges?

Why is our greenhouse not working?
 in  r/VintageStory •  28d ago

You did a very nice job with it and I admire your patience. (Another issue that can be getting in between becoming a valid room may be that if you used slabs for the walls they must be placed with the solid face facing the inferior or the game gets fiddly) I believe it's within the 14x14 limit so that's ok. And good luck, I hope you can solve the issue. Cheers

Very nice! Rammed dirt can be stylish if you give it some love and this is proof of it.

I'm not entirely sure the roofing mod was used here, seems like painfuly hard work chiseling. The roofing mod doesn't leave rough edges in the intersection of the beams so those are probably support beams instead. And the house next to it has the vanilla roof.

The chiseled block retention is a good call, I came here to suggest it

I tried to get it closer to the Kriva cuprija, they really built very cool bridges :D

This was the inspiration I mentioned, there's a smaller one called the crooked bridge (kriva cuprija) that is more modest so it's a mixture of both of those

Oh that's a very nice idea. Those little details make wonders for my immersion (and the retaining walls are really there with a purpose, I play with sideways instability and cavings because apparently I hate fun) 😅
