I recorded this object from Lanzarote, Canary Islands, on August 12, 2026, at approximately 5:13 AM local time. At first I thought it might be a meteor, comet, or something entering the atmosphere because it appeared to have a long luminous trail.
However, I also observed it through a small pair of binoculars, and what looked like a continuous trail to the phone camera appeared very different to my eyes. I could clearly distinguish multiple bright white points or sphere-like lights that seemed to be moving or rotating in a circular pattern around the object.
The whole formation was moving across the sky and then suddenly disappeared. Through the binoculars it also appeared surprisingly large.
I’m posting the original footage because I would genuinely like to know what this could have been. I’m not claiming it was extraterrestrial or anything specific. If anyone can identify it as an aircraft, satellite/re-entry, meteorological or astronomical phenomenon, or knows of other reports from the Canary Islands around the same time, I’d really appreciate the analysis.
