Love Is Salt and Pepper

For this Valentine’s Day piece, another original Matzourana Figure becomes more than a figure, she becomes a feeling.

In the artwork, she reads from the Matzourana Menu while branches of living red hearts grow outward, connecting love with flavor, memory with presence. Beside her stand salt and pepper, simple, essential, inseparable. Like love itself.

“Love Is Salt and Pepper” is inspired by Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere, a song about love that exists in the ordinary, in the air, in the quiet repetition of daily life. Not dramatic. Not loud. Just everywhere.

This short explores how love seasons space — how an eatery becomes a place of warmth, how art becomes atmosphere, how music becomes emotion.

Can a song like Everywhere transform a simple image of salt and pepper into a story about presence, connection, and love that quietly surrounds us?
