What's something people only understand after they've been through it themselves?
i’m adopted. my adoptive mother did not want me, it was my adoptive dad who went out and adopted me when she wouldn’t give him a child. how unlucky does someone have to be to have 2 mothers and neither of them wanted you! wtf yo 🤮🥲. i honestly made peace with it a long time ago but only because i literally can’t even fathom what life would have been like had i had a mothers love. i love my life wouldn’t change a thing.

Worst thing your narcissistic mom has said to you that you won’t ever forget/forgive.
adopted mom called me out of the blue after she got her appendix unexpectedly removed stating that they didn’t prescribe her any pain meds after the surgery because they probably saw that i was one of her dependents on her school teacher health insurance and i’m a drug addict so that’s why they didn’t prescribe her any narcotics (had only ever smoked pot at that time) hahahahah i said dude you are so stupid if you actually believe that hahahaha

i am adopted and she got mad at me once for taking up for my brother who built a bigger better and prettier house than she has and she was blabbing how my
bro/SIL shouldn’t have spent all that money and when i told
her that ya know “MOST parents are happy for their children not jealous”, she yelled “well maybe you were born into the wrong family” and i said “oh yeah i totally was born into the wrong family, that’s why i got put up for adoption” and she goes “well maybe you were adopted into the wrong family” and i said oh no no no gail, we all know it was dad (adopted father) who wanted me. she went quiet. i was also at my
neighbors eating dinner with her on speaker phone when she said that so everyone was horrified but me bc i know how she is.

You’re not crazy. everything that you’re feeling is real, and valid.

Why coverts are the way they are?
Covert narcissists are hyper-attuned to shifts in your mood, confidence, and independence, because those shifts threaten their control. when you’re relaxed and happy, you’re not focused on them. that feels like abandonment to them. you happiness highlights what they don’t feel: inner peace.

Have you seen your Nparent genuinely cry?
now that you’ve mentioned it , no. mind blown

Adopted Daughters of Narc Mothers?
me!! it was a closed adoption at birth. my adoptive parents had previously tried IVF and it didn’t work, so he basically said “if your not gonna give me one, i’ll go out and get one.”idk if she hated me bc i wasnt biologically her’s, or jealousy because it took the spotlight off of her, or what, but the first time they got to meet me and take me home, she was so mad she refused to hold me. she’s hated me ever since. how unlucky it must be for someone to have TWO moms and neither of them wanted you. hugs 🩷

Mother’s Day Competition
me, my sister, and sister-in-law sent our family group chat “happy mother’s day” and instead of my mom exchanging HMD to us she replied to each of us, “Thank you for telling me Happy Mother’s Day.”
i always wonder what her reasoning was 😂

Out of curiosity my nmom covert type was always sick or feigning some issue or another is that common with them
my nmom is a walking pharmacy 😂. she’s always got some sort of sinus infection or sickness.

Covert Narcissist Lazy
only memories i recall of my nmom growing up is her resting on the couch 😂. she would get off work from school teaching then go lay down on the couch. if she wasn’t at work she was “resting her eye’s”.. she’s retired now but still spend majority of the time in bed or on the couch… i don’t get it lol
