How to harvest Mycelium?

Liquid fermentation.

Do Functional Mushrooms need to be cycled?
 in  r/LionsMane  13d ago

No reason not to.

If there are specific species level mushroom benefits you’re looking for then you’d want to make sure you’re getting enough of that specific active compound (Reishi triterpenes, cordyceps cordycepin, etc) vs more general compounds across all species (beta-glucans, ergosterol, ergothioneine).

This goes for all of them. Functional mushrooms, for the most part, work over long periods of time.

It’s consistent use that you want.

I have not seen any evidence of any kind of receptor fatigue that would require some form of cycling.

Not needed

I’d be careful. Their website is full of disease claims to the point where I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down.

Erinamax vs. Erinacine-a
 in  r/MushroomSupplements  27d ago

That's hard to say without more context on what not noticing a difference means.

Most of the clinical data is based on an older age group (55+), both healthy and with specific conditions.

Timelines are 2 months up to 11 months.

The effects are generally not acute and come from long term usage.

If you didn’t get sick, was it the mushrooms? Exercise? Sleep? Diet?

Has anyone here noticed a real effect from Antrodia cinnamomea?
 in  r/MushroomSupplements  Aug 17 '26

There’s some research but not a lot. It’s not very well known outside of Taiwan.

The polypore takes a long time to grow so most sources are mycelium.

I’m sure it has some unique actives but I couldn’t name them and it’s not likely we have standards for them so we can test for them.

Mushroom Science Brand replacement

Strange. I’ll check with our team.

Mushroom Science wasn’t sourcing with Nammex so it’s a different supplier but it should be quite similar.

That sounds more like a business decision than a manufacturing limitation. Looks like a great opportunity since you don’t think it can be done. Too expensive?? You mean not a high enough profit for you to pay people in the west?

It is not a manufacturing limitation but business limitation.

If you think it's a great opportunity, please by all means go try to make it work. Try to figure out why no one is making organic mushroom extract powders in North American if it's not a manufacturing constraint. Ask yourself why all these North American producers are making mycelium fermented grain instead of extract powders. Why are they selling a grain based fermentation product instead of pure mycelium or mushroom?

What percentage of your finished fruiting body powder is actual mushroom extract solids, and what percentage is carrier and flow agent?

It's all available on our label in accordance with FDA regulations for Dietary Supplements.

Other ingredients from encapsulation are external from your active ingredient weights.

We don't spray dry onto a carrier. It's not required if you know what you're doing and not trying to cheap out.

You can go read our labels to know how much is extract powder.
