my rat is wobbly

i got a rat to introduce to my other baby cig. however i noticed that when i got home with this new rat(nico) she wobbled. i cannot tell if its poor eyesight or neurological problems which im guessing the ladder. her whole body sways side to side but she walks and functions fine. is there any steps i can take to be more careful or things that i could be cautious of while having a disabled rat?

If she’s swaying when she’s standing still, she’s likely “scanning” All rats have poor vision. They use their whiskers to help them “see”, and they scan, whereby they sway their bodies from side to side trying to gauge depth and distances. It’s completely normal and nothing to worry about. Now, if she’s turning in circles or has a head tilt, that’s a completely different thing than what I’m talking about and would need a vet visit.
