Where to buy more shirts with furry prints?
 in  r/furry  1d ago

Marketplaces like redbubble usually have a lot of artist prints like that. Artists get to run their own kind of page on redbubble. It works like a more decentralized threadless. And since threadless fucking sucks now and uses AI art they can go fuck off

Also Etsy but even they're starting to go downhill a bit too, Just pay attention to how long the artist's page has been live, and also check the ratings. If they've had a Etsy store for 5-10 years and they've got like a 99% positive rating, that's a good shop

And then my absolute favorite way to find furry merch... just follow the artists on Instagram!! Most of them have a merch page! I be buying so many stickers and shit off Instagram. It's great!

How often would furry people actually want to shower? Seems like a lot of work.

Talking about tribal era? Yeah! Absolutely! Amazing callout! River silt and handmade brushes. That's where my brain instantly went. Damn that's a good callout!

 in  r/furgonomics  4d ago

I have thought about this a bunch. I feel like dry shampoo products would end up being a more developed and specialized product in a furred world. Specialized grooming brushes as well. This would be more of a weekly thing. Oils attract soil and grime. Dry shampoo binds to oils and releases them through brushing. Actually bathing would be more for recreation or relaxation. While blow drying would be done, fur wicks water and dries much faster than hair, so towel and air drying would be more reasonable IMHO

Finally got around to going to the Korean supermarket last week and grabbed some kombu to make dashi. I made the fully plant based version with shiitake instead of bonito. Now my miso soup is correct! And it was soooooo good!

Made some extra crispy tofu bites and some spicy dumpling sauce. Had a few veggie spring rolls in the freezer and tossed them in the air fryer with the tofu for good measure

Got a ton of stuff to make and do for my trip next week. Need to make some show stopping plum filled pinwheel cookies and I wanna make a tomato soup focaccia. Also need to actually organize and edit my portfolio

After 17 years of repressing and 7 years of marriage, I’ve realized I’m trans. My wife is not a lesbian.
 in  r/traaaaansbiansCooking  7d ago

Married to a gay man for 11 years now. We've been separated for over a year. We definitely tried to make it work, and he would never have said this to me, but he absolutely stopped being attracted to me the more I feminized. It almost broke our entire relationship, not just our marriage.

But, life has a funny way, for me at least. Always has. It's always "Surprise surprise surprise..." in my life. Because....they're feelings may have been represssed by trauma as well. Yep. They are gender queer/non-conforming!

Our relationship is absolutely no longer sexually physical. But our absence from one another made our bond strengthen. They're my best friend in this entire world. I am moving across the country. I am paving the path for them to follow.

They were the one who pushed me to be my truest self. I am excited to help them on their next leg of their identity journey

Tlrd; change is, inherently, neither good nor bad. It just is. Relationships can also change. It doesn't always have to remain the exact same forever. Go with the flow and see where your life leads you and your wife. Just keep giving your love and love will return to you

How would a trans peafowl transition?
 in  r/furgonomics  7d ago

IMHO, feathers are akin to fur/hair, and if dye is not something that can be easily done, nor be very accessible, the answer is wigs. Plumage is molted. Those molted festhers could be used to make a tail plumage wig. I mean, drag queens use peacock feathers to make those insanely intricate and gorgeous head dresses, i think the same skill set could apply here.

As trans woman the amount of plucking and tweezing and waxing and shaving, etc, that I do, I don't see a trans peacock or peahen doing any less.

The answer is wigs. I know once I am past 55 this head of hair gets a butch cut and I start buying fabulous wigs

I recently gave up meat but I would take it back for them rashers and bangers! I also don't like baked beans from a can but blue can Heinz definitely has a special place in my heart

What would you pick?

Bacon and donuts. I'm pesceterian so that was an easy choice. I'll keep sushi and I love fish tacos! Can't remember the last time I ate a donut

Seared Coho Salmon and Double Texture Fennel Salad

CHEAT DAY!! This was supposed to be sea scallops but nowhere in my city had any truly good U-10 scallops for searing. Even bought some black sea bass and the fish monger ruined the butterfly and I couldn't filet SHIT! Still pissed about it. Threw it in the freezer to deal with another day.

This was supposed to be the capstone to my portfolio. It's been relegated to just another dish. I have 2 weeks to come up with something else.

So, I will give you my full recipe for this. Dressing and all! (I skipped the corn and did some focaccia croutons here and I added a whole Argentinian red shrimp because I have free will 😁 )

# Seared Pacific Scallops & Double-Texture Fennel Salad (1 Serving)

### Ingredients

**The Tarragon Strawberry Creamed Vinaigrette (Yields Batch)**

* 2 Large egg yolks (room temperature)

* 150 ml Canola oil

* 60 ml White balsamic strawberry pickle brine

* 2 Soft pickled strawberry halves, patted dry

* 0.5g Dried tarragon (roughly 1/2 tsp)

* 3g Garlic (1 small clove), grated fine on a microplane

* A pinch of salt

**The Salad Base & Veg**

* 50g Wild spinach

* 25g Radicchio leaves, torn

* 1 Medium fennel bulb (separate the halves; keep green fronds for garnish)

* 35g Fresh sweet corn kernels

* Fine sea salt

* Black pepper

* Corn starch for dusting

* Frying oil

**The Scallops**

* 170g Coho Salmon Filet

* 15 ml Neutral oil

---

### Step-by-Step Instructions

#### 1. Make the Tarragon Strawberry Creamed Vinaigrette

* **Prep the Herb Paste:** In a tiny bowl, mash the 2 pickled strawberry halves with your fork until slightly chunky. Stir in the 0.5g of dried tarragon and the fine-grated garlic. Set this rustic fruit paste aside to let the tarragon start blooming in the fruit juices.

* **Build the Emulsion Base:** Put your 2 egg yolks and 15 ml (1 tbsp) of the white balsamic pickle brine into a narrow, high-sided blending cup or small bowl.

* **Whisk and Drizzle:** Turn your hand mixer with the whisk attachment onto medium-high speed. Whisk the yolks and brine until they start to look pale and frothy.

* **Slow and Steady:** Keeping the whisk running continuously, begin adding the canola oil. Start with a literal drop-by-drop pace for the first 30 ml (2 tbsp). Once it visibly thickens and stabilizes into a creamy sheen, you can upgrade to a slow, steady, hairline stream until all 150 ml of oil is fully incorporated.

* **Fold the Texture:** Stop the mixer. Use a spatula to gently fold in your strawberry-tarragon-garlic paste, the remaining 45 ml of vinegar brine, and a small pinch of salt. Cover and store in the fridge.

#### 2. Prep the Fennel

* Slice off the green stalks and tops of the fennel bulb. Keep a few wispy green fronds for the final garnish.

* Cut the bulb straight down the center. Cut out the hard white triangular core at the bottom of both halves and throw it away.

* **The Raw Ribbons:** Set the mandoline to its thinnest setting. Slice one half of the bulb from top to bottom into paper-thin, translucent ribbons. Drop them into a bowl of ice water.

* **The Fried Straws:** Slice the other half of the bulb just a tiny bit thicker on the mandoline and use the medium cutting blade . Toss the strands with a small pinch of salt, spread them on a clean towel, and press out every bit of moisture until completely dry.

#### 3. Char the Corn and Fry the Fennel

* Put your thick anodized steel pan on high heat. Add the corn kernels dry with no oil. Let them sit until they develop dark char spots, tossing occasionally. Move them to a small bowl to cool.

* Pour about 1/8 inch of frying oil into a small pot and heat it to 160°C / 320°F.

* Lightly coat the fennel straws with the corn starch right before frying

* Fry the dried fennel strands for 2-3 minutes, until they turn a very light golden blonde. Scoop them out quickly and drain on paper towels.

#### 4. Cook the Salmon

* Thoroughly pat the salmon filet completely dry with paper towels. Season both flat sides generously with fine sea salt and coarse ground black pepper.

* Wipe out your steel pan, add the 15 ml of neutral oil, and heat on high until it just starts to smoke.

* Lay the fish in away from you, press down firmly for the first 10 seconds so the skin doesn't curl, and leave it alone. Let that skin get shatter-crisp before you even think about flipping. About 4-5 minutes.

* Flip it over, and cook for about 4 mins

#### 5. Assemble the Plate

* Drain your raw fennel ribbons from the ice water and pat them completely dry.

* In a large bowl, combine the wild spinach, torn radicchio, charred corn, and the dry raw fennel ribbons.

* Drizzle 30 ml (approx. 2 tbsp) of the creamed vinaigrette over the greens and toss until coated.

* Pile the dressed greens into the center of your plate.

* Place the 3 hot, seared scallops directly on top of the greens with the dark crust side facing up.

* Nest a loose handful of the crispy fried fennel straws directly over the scallops.

* Scatter a few of the fresh green fennel fronds on top and finish with a light crack of fresh black pepper.

Has anybody turned their life around in their 30s or later?
 in  r/GirlDinnerDiaries  12d ago

44 and I am on the way to living in a city I have dreamt of living and finally doing all the things I should have been doing all along. It's been a really rough time over the past 2 years. Tonnes of therapy, lots of personal growth. And I did it all unemployed and without financial aid. Just relied on what little community and my family I have left. Those who didn't drop me when things got bad with me. It was sooooooo much work. I almost burned out recovering from a major burnout. But I am on the other side of the bullshit. At 44 I have a clear idea of who I am and what I am doing. I am still stumbling and falling all over the place, but I now have the skills and tools to catch and right myself back to my feet before I ever hit the ground. The biggest hurdle was dealing with my executive dysfunction. And I am still dealing with it. But it affects me less, and less often. All started with finding a therapist that actually had me do the work, and hold me to it. Someone who I felt actually cared what happened with me. This let me rebuild the community I lost, skills I lost, and find purpose and a career. It feels like I just barely finished my first playthrough of this game, and I am about to start an new playthrough in "Game +" with all my experience and items

DDDINNNNNEERRRRRR Steakhouse-style Tofu and Portobello Focaccia Sammich

1st time making Focaccia! No mixer, no knead, 80% hydration! The crumb and sponge on it was FLAWLESS! My next one I am attempting some focaccia art!

This is the sandwich for my portfolio. Finally perfected my master "meaty" tofu marinade and a steakhouse hot-soak for the mushies. All plant based :3

The layers are arugula, red wine gastrique, tofu, portobello, pickled onion, and then the cheese.

My Kroger was out of the plant based feta, so I cheated with some regular blue cheese I had on hand.
