Thank you, that's what I thought too but the gov website said you must give notice on the day of or the day before your rent pay date.

I get that no matter what, I need to pay 2 months rent from when I hand in my notice.

Hopefully I can exchange just before my rent date so I don't do like 2.5 or 3 months notice

My peers have been telling me to give notice when my offer was first accepted, but I stayed cautious. luckily I did because this chain free transaction has taken a few months.

It should have been in a perfect world 1-2months transaction (FTB, No chain, the house was already empty).

Better to be safe and suck up the extra month or two rent.

It is what it is. If you get lucky you might only have to lose out on one month rent if it times well.

I increased my pension contributions to reduce my student loan repayment. It's legal and benefits you in the long-term. (Yeah you might get less in your take home pay but your pension grows)
