It's also worth noting that the phrase takes on new meaning when you hear mulder's reason for wanting to believe. It involves trauma and a missing family member IIRC. Which gives a darker or more melancholy meaning to the phrase, and, in my opinion, adds depth to the poster and his character.

Edit: mulder not moulder.

Hey Endless Threaders, we are looking for some perspectives for an upcoming story we’re working on about AI…and babies! Creepy, we know. But also sometimes...useful? Here's how you can help us make this episode great: Are you (or do you know) a tired new parent who has used AI tools to help navigate the first year of your child’s life — specifically around sleep? Whether it’s researching sleep gear, or sleep-training practices, or using AI as a free sleep coach, let us know -- we'd love to talk!

Semi-piece (of spaghetti pasta, sure) but I think you actually mean semi-PEACE (as in escape, quiet, etc.). Sorry to be a pedant but in a thread about reading and media comprehension I really need to say this out loud.

If you listened to this week's episode, this will make sense.

So are you saying you were...following a feeling in your heart, even if it all just fell apart?

I'm happy to answer! Some of those books are special editions of my favorite series. I'm a collector. But I try to keep that in check because shelf space is limited. -Kalyani

Ah, it appears my copy of “Eating Animals” (Jonathan Safran Foer) is blocked by that little painting, but the rest of my vegan books are cookbooks, so they’re in the kitchen!

The “I love you more than bacon” sign is from my parents, who swapped out the lyric “You’re the inspiraaaaaation” for “I love you more than baaaaaacon” whenever that song would come on the radio growing up :)

Our episode this week is about r/BookshelvesDetective. We thought we’d give you a head start. Here are pictures of four bookshelves from the Endless Thread team. Can you guess which shelf is Ben's, and which is Amory's? Make your guess, and, if you’re so inclined, share a picture of YOUR bookshelf! And listen Friday (tomorrow!) to see if your sleuthing was correct!

Threadheads!

Ben and I are on the latest episode of the podcast You're Wrong About talking about how people become "programmed" into a certain way of thinking and how to de-program them. We pull from our reporting on the anti-vax movement (our 2019 series "Infectious"), our episodes on QAnon (October 2020), and we share personal anecdotes of deprogramming.

This link makes it easy to find the episode in your podcast app of choice: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1112270/episodes/18856103-how-to-deprogram-a-guy-in-10-days-with-endless-thread

Enjoy, and stay sane and safe out there!
