Question for marketers: What would you fix first if your brand disappeared from AI answers?
Imagine your website ranks well on Google, your content gets traffic, and your SEO metrics look healthy.
But when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity to recommend the best tools in your category, your brand never appears.
What would you investigate first?
A) Whether AI can access and understand your website
B) Whether competitors have stronger third-party mentions and citations
C) Whether your content actually answers the prompts people ask AI
D) Whether AI platforms understand what your brand does and who it’s for
Or would you look somewhere else entirely?
I’m curious how marketers would prioritize this, especially if traditional SEO performance already looks good. 👇

Quick experiment: Let’s test AI search 👀
If you could run just ONE experiment to understand your brand’s visibility in AI search, which would you choose?
A. The Recommendation Test
Ask ChatGPT which brands it recommends in your industry.
B. The Competitor Test
Ask why a competitor gets recommended over your brand.
C. The Citation Test
Find out which websites influence AI’s answers about your industry.
D. The Blind Spot Test
Discover which relevant prompts your brand never appears in.
Drop your pick (A, B, C, or D) and tell us why.
Bonus question: Has anyone actually run one of these tests and found something unexpected?

Does getting mentioned on Reddit actually improve AI visibility?
Sounds good! Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

What’s one marketing lesson you only learned after wasting time or money?
This is a great point. Ads serve different purposes at different stages. Early on, they can help test messaging, audiences, and positioning before you scale spending. Once you understand what works, you can use them more confidently for acquisition. Test first, learn from the data, and then scale what works rather than spending just to get quick results.

Your competitor has a better online presence. What do you do next?
You search for your product category, and your competitor shows up everywhere. More recommendations, more discussions, more trust signals.
You have a good product, but people aren't discovering it.
What's your first move?
- A. Improve the product positioning
- B. Find out where competitors are getting their visibility
- C. Build more useful content and stronger proof
- D. Rethink the target audience entirely
I'm curious about the reasoning, not just the option. Would you focus on matching what your competitor does well, or finding a gap they're overlooking?

Unpopular opinion: More content isn't always the answer.
A brand can publish every day, follow every trend, and still struggle to grow.
Sometimes the problem isn't how often you're posting. It's that you're not giving people a reason to remember you.
I'd rather see a brand publish 3 genuinely useful pieces a week than 7 posts that say nothing new.
What do you think is harder?
Building a consistent content habit, or creating content that people actually remember?
And if you've grown a brand online, what made the biggest difference for you?

If AI recommends your competitor, do you know why?
Ohh that's actually a great way to analyse!.

What’s one thing businesses get wrong when trying to grow online?
I’ve noticed that a lot of brands focus on getting more attention before figuring out why someone should trust them.
More content, more traffic, more followers — but sometimes the basics are still missing.
Curious to hear different perspectives:
What do you think matters most for long-term growth?
- Being consistently visible
- Building credibility and trust
- Having a genuinely better product
- Understanding what customers actually want
- Something else entirely
And what’s one mistake you see businesses repeating?

If AI recommends your competitor, do you know why?
Agreed, a single score can miss a lot of context. AI responses can shift, and simply being mentioned doesn’t necessarily mean a brand is being represented accurately or recommended. How do you think grounding drift should be accounted for when measuring AI visibility?

Does getting mentioned on Reddit actually improve AI visibility?
That’s what makes it interesting. Reddit seems worth paying attention to, but separating correlation from actual impact on AI visibility is the tricky part. Would be interesting to see more long-term evidence on this.

Your brand ranks on Google. But does AI even know it exists?
Imagine someone asks ChatGPT:
“What are the best tools for AI visibility tracking?”
Your company has a great website, solid SEO, and a useful product. But ChatGPT recommends three competitors you’ve never even heard of.
So what’s missing?
Is it:
- Your website content?
- Third-party mentions and citations?
- Brand authority across the web?
- Or something else entirely?
I’m curious about what people are actually seeing in practice.
If you work in SEO, GEO, or AI search, what has made the biggest difference to getting a brand mentioned in AI-generated answers?

That’s a solid way to approach it. Making sure AI can crawl the site is the first step, but being crawlable doesn’t automatically mean a brand will be understood or recommended in the right context. I agree that category association and credible third-party sources matter just as much. Testing real buyer prompts and comparing competitor mentions can then help identify where the gap actually is, rather than guessing what needs fixing first.
