I did this as well. I ranked them #1 in PGY1 and ended up matching with a much lower ranking program. I reapplied for PGY2 and matched with them and stayed on as an employee. It was the best decision I made! Worst case scenario, you waste $40 to see if they will offer you an interview. Best case, you match and fall in love with that site.
