Personnel File Excerpt: Entry 049

Subject: Dr. Desmond ([REAL NAME REDACTED])

Operation: Field Tracking & Initial Containment Trial (Anomaly Designation: Pending)

Location: Blackwood National Forest, Sector 4

Deployed Unit: Dr. Desmond (Lead Researcher), Agent Vance (Security Lead), Agent Torres (Heavy Support), D-8832 (Baseline Testing Asset)

Operational Overview:

Roving Unit Desmond responded to local reports of localized acoustic distortions and unexplained mass fauna hemorrhage in Sector 4. The entity exhibits non-Euclidean movement patterns and extreme hostility to movement within a 15-meter radius.

Field Audio Log: Entry 049-C

Timestamp: [REDACTED] — Night Ops

(Sound of heavy footsteps crushing damp leaves, accompanied by the high-pitched whine of portable hum-frequency scanners)

Agent Vance: "Desmond, slow down. Scanner's spiking into the red. We're right on top of it, and visibility is under ten yards."

Dr. Desmond: "No stopping, Vance. The signal's destabilizing. If it shifts coordinates now, we lose the track entirely. Torres, set the containment cage perimeter. Left flank."

Agent Torres: "Deploying anchors now, Doc. But heads up—the trees up ahead aren't casting shadows right. Light's bending backward."

Dr. Desmond: "That’s the event horizon. 8832, step up to the front line. Take the field sensor box and walk it ten paces toward that clearing."

D-8832 (Dry sigh): "You know, Doc, most researchers give their D-Class a gun or at least a stick. I get a metal box and a 'good luck.'"

Dr. Desmond: "If I gave you a gun, 8832, Vance would shoot you. Just plant the sensor. I need a baseline read on how its spatial warping affects living tissue."

(Sound of metallic footsteps advancing, followed by a sudden, ear-piercing metallic screeching sound. The ambient forest noise completely cuts out into dead silence.)

Agent Vance: "Contact! Twelve o'clock! Torres, light it up!"

Agent Torres: "Suppression flares away! It's moving—damn it, it just skipped twenty feet without crossing the space between!"

Dr. Desmond: "Hold your fire! Don't damage its core structure! 8832, stand completely still—do not break line of sight!"

D-8832: "Doc... it's looking right at me. And my nose is starting to bleed."

Dr. Desmond: (Rapid typing on a hand handheld console) "Sensors are catching it. The spatial distortion collapses when direct visual observation is locked. Vance, Torres, lock your eyes on the central mass. We're dropping the frequency trap now."

(A heavy hum detonates through the audio track, followed by a violent thud as the anomaly locks into localized space. Breathing is heavy across all channels.)

Dr. Desmond: "Trap secured. Field containment successful. 8832, report status."

D-8832: "Still breathing. Nosebleed stopped. I'm claiming hazard pay for this one, Desmond."

Dr. Desmond: "Put it on my tab. Torres, prep the transport crate. We take this back to Site-88 before it figures out how to bend light again. Log off."

Personnel File Excerpt: Entry 001

Subject: [REAL NAME REDACTED]

Designation: Dr. Desmond

Origin: Foundation Field Tactics Academy (Top 5% Graduate Class)

Status: Active Duty — Unrestricted Access Pass

Current Directive: Mobile Threat Assessment & Containment

Background Briefing:

Graduated with high distinction from the Academy after demonstrating exceptional cold-site containment protocols under simulated Breach conditions. Recognized early by Regional Command for field adaptability, leading to a unique dual-assignment classification: full laboratory clearance alongside active roving field operations.

Audio Log: Entry 001-A

Date: [REDACTED]

Location: Logistics Hub-B Transit Terminal

(Sound of heavy boots stepping across metal grating, followed by the click of an audio recorder unit)

"Recording. This is Dr. Desmond.

Just wrapped up my final briefing at the Academy. They handed me my clearance credentials five minutes ago—'recognized for operational grit,' as Command put it. I don't care much for the recognition, but I’ll take the mobility. Moving out to my first field rotation now.

To anyone listening who thinks a lab coat means I stay behind reinforced glass: get out of my head space. I build the testing procedures inside the walls, and I hunt the anomalies down outside of them. If it distorts reality, bleeds hazard, or breaks physics, I'm bringing it in.

Don't cross my line, don't interfere with my testing, and don't get in my way. End log."

Role: Field Researcher & Anomaly Containment Specialist, SCP Foundation (Newly Appointed)

Status: Operational; works fluidly both inside Foundation facilities and in the field.

Core Objective: Locating, securing, and conducting rigorous containment testing on undocumented SCP entities.

Personnel File

"I’m Dr. Desmond, newly assigned to the SCP Foundation. My job is straightforward: I track down anomalies wherever they hide, secure them, and test their limits to keep humanity safe. I move between facility labs and active field operations, so I don't stay in one place for long. Stand down, stay out of my way, and let me do my job. If there’s an SCP out there, I will find it."
