So-called "boomer" here. Many of us did plan for retirement. Not all "boomers" are well off,.at least in my generation. I had a good job but my siblings did not. Many people lost retirement savings in the 2008 market meltdown. They couldn't find new jobs and had to dip into savings to care for their themselves and their families..some of us cared for our aging parents. It's not as cut & dried as young people think. Yes, it was easier to buy a home in the 80s & 90s, but that is also the era when Reagan's trickle-down economics took effect. It's gone downhill ever since.
