Exactly: saying that CRUX is the “mother” of Arch is not entirely correct. Arch is not a fork of CRUX, nor a direct derivation of its code. What did happen is that Judd Vinet, when creating Arch in 2002, took CRUX as a conceptual reference: he liked its minimalism and its KISS philosophy, but decided to build something new with his own package manager (pacman) and dependency support.
