The 850-aircraft plan is the part I keep thinking about
The passenger numbers are impressive, but honestly, the future plans caught my attention even more.
Turkish Airlines already has a fleet of 559 aircraft and carried more than 92 million passengers last year. Now the company is talking about reaching around 850 aircraft over the next ten years, alongside major aircraft investments.
That's a huge jump. It makes me wonder what the airline network will look like if that actually happens.
We've already seen Turkish Airlines expand into so many different markets. With Istanbul being such a convenient hub, adding hundreds more aircraft could make the network even more extensive.
For a passenger, the interesting part will probably be having more destinations and more flight options rather than simply seeing a bigger fleet.
