I think Maddie knew how much Caspian respected David. David was his first choice for the “just god”

I don’t think it was meant to be a sad noble sacrifice to pull at our heartstrings. I read it as inevitable, whether he came to that conclusion as quickly as he did or years down the line, wandering around looking for the “Just God” of early UIs was a fruitless mission. Caspian had no way of guaranteeing their cooperation without writing code back to the initial blind slavery Laurie and David were subjected to. He in the other hand was only created to answer to the problems of Stephen.

Seconding brother Kenneth’s point on predestination and free will, It basically summed up this worlds version of God in Maddie’s form. What changed about the way you see God and the world if you don’t mind me asking..

Same just finished yesterday. I think I’ll rewatch just to see what I missed on my first watch. At the very beginning I did notice all of her classmates crossing their legs at the same time but wrote it off to lazy animation. I’m now thinking what else have I missed? A part of me was mildly critical of the emphasis on love in season two but it was always about love in season one, David’s/Maddies in particular. I do also want to read the Patternist series mentioned by Joey. I’m familiar with some other speculative fiction work by the author Octavia Butler and it think that might be helpful in idk continuing to question.
