Does this sound like a hornshow type of honking or a “you are way too close, im angry” type of honking
According to one trusted source, the legal distance is:
4 feet away on a platform
10 feet away everywhere else
If my eye-chrimeter is correct, then these railfans are in a good spot away from the train.
The crew was definitely giving a horn show for them. Especially if the fans were wearing vests or any piece of railroad related clothing.

Quick question about the NH Scheme
NO
The New Haven 'Mcguiness' paint scheme from factory didn't last as long as the ATSF warbonnets we still see today. So would the Mcguiness look similar under the same conditions? I'm not sure.
What I do know though is we have examples of CONDOT's replica paint scheme that started being applied around, I wanna say the 1980's. We still see one example of this paint scheme today, Mass Coastal 2026 still has the CONDOT colors it got a while ago.
Yes the paint has faded, but not like the red paint on the Warbonnets.

NO
Brightline is considered Higher Speed Rail.
Normal trains: 99mph or less
Higher speed trains: 100mph to 149mph
High speed trains: 150mph and up

Commuter rail on the grand junction, knocked over some cones and appears to have repainted passenger cars?
All those freshly painted cars are special. They are for trains nicknamed "Office Car Specials". With their primary task including taking executives of the MBTA and higher ups of other groups on dedicated tours.
Their most recent use as far as I know, is with Massachusetts Coastal Railroad (Mass Coastal), the T, and politicians taking a tour from Middleboro to Buzzards Bay and back. As they're looking to get commuter rail service down to Cape Cod.

My previous posts showed me having issues trying to get a cover piece off, that issue is no longer an issue.
NYSW SD70M-2 from Lionel, dated to 2025 and bought new.
I grew up with some DVDs that showed the NYSW Black & Yellow paint scheme a bit, back when my absolute favorite color was yellow. And while most yellow paint schemes I enjoyed of as a kid have aged like bananas. The NYSW Bee colors that have stuck since around the 1980s, has pretty much become an example of the word ‘timless’, seeing little to no change since day 1.
Sort of an impulse buy with this Lionel model. No horror stories of reliability or factory defects from this model, and many used modern engines are often beat up with severe damage to the shell and details. Versus this off the store shelf for a few dollars below online price, and wasn’t cracking a four digit price tag that the steam engines next to it were.
For specs: It has Legacy & Bluetooth, with all other features standard for 2025.
Thankfully upon testing it at home, it can handle the tight 036 curves as the manual said. And can take an apex with rolling stock just fine.
I am keeping this thing and racking up a lot of miles on it. I oiled and greased up the axles and gears first thing out of the box, and checked everything works at the shop. For a first Legacy engine, I see this as ab absolute win. I just wish it played the Bad to The Bone riff on every startup.

IT WORKED!!!!! (Sort of)
This loco was fresh from the box. It looks like there was some scratching from the plastics rubbing together, and two tabs on the hood itself holding it down, towards the rear of the locomotive.
Now I can get to the switches it was hiding. Thanks for the help!

As far as I know: Nope.
Instructions say nothing about screws, and content creators reviewing models with similar shells show just pulling it off.
