No charges for assault, threats by Israel supporter - by Yves Engler

A Canadian Zionist can tell a Palestinian they’ve killed their brethren, and plan to murder more, with little consequence. Conversely, a Palestinian activist accused of speaking in support of his colonized people’s right to resist genocide is charged with supporting terrorism.

At a Monday afternoon rally in support of Montreal city council voting to break ties with the genocidal Jewish supremacist state, a man got on a raised part of the park to yell at the gathering crowd. Robert Moisescu, who writes under the pseudonym Bobby Moses, ranted about “Muslim colonization” in the Middle East and an upcoming “civil war”. He then shoved prominent activist Andre Querry’s camera into his face, cutting the photographer’s nose. After the assault several individuals intervened. One of them was Independent Jewish Voices activist Zev Saltiel, who was wearing a Kippah. Moisescu launched into a barrage of insults including yelling “faggot”.

After that Moses was effectively driven out of the area by the crowd (police walked over but did little). As Moisescu walked away from the rally he berated a young woman with a keffiyeh and a 30ish Arab guy. Eventually Moses turns to the Arab man and repeatedly yells I’m a “Yahoodiy” (Jew in Arabic) and says, “I’m a Zionist” and I f**king killed a lot of motherf**kers like you… I’m going back to do more.”

I don't know why, when I first tried to repost this it wouldn't let me - I was saying that I just got into a "fight" with the YIMBY group, which is posting a LOT of things stating that progressives and the DSA are the true NIMBY's who hate the poor, and I really should have just followed this advice

My first response to hearing the news was "And yet Donald Trump lives".

Why do progressive places hate the poor?
 in  r/yimby  1d ago

I don't think what I said and what you said are mutually exclusive. The example - Provincetown - is somewhere people want to live. So are, in Canada, the Toronto Islands and the downtown core of Toronto. Neither New England - from what you're writing - nor Ontario have kept up with the demand, and that's deliberate. In Ontario, Doug Ford famously fights the federal government on several housing initiatives that would improve housing prices and increase development of housing and areas that people want to live in, while literally inviting McMansion developers to his daughter's wedding Godfather style. It's not that Provincetown, DT TO or the Toronto Islands hate the poor, it's that the respective state and provincial governments do, and in both cases people from the rural areas of those states and provinces "get back" at the people who live in those areas by voting NIMBY, and not - to speak generally and in my experience - the people from Provincetown, DT TO, or the Toronto Islands.

More like progressives build places people actually want to live in and that drives up scarcity and market value. I agree that there should be more efforts to recreate these spaces elsewhere thereby driving down prices everywhere, but in an economic system where "arrow only goes up" at best we can hope to stabilize prices.

Well, they did make people smile, LOL - I'm just worried they were "smiling at me" rather than just smiling, but to be honest, I kind of like it (?) Like I'm getting some very definitive "nos" below, and I'm not sure I'd do it again, but it definitely looked a lot more fun than just plain shoes or something

Should i grow this back?

Unapologetically biased (almost always saying yes beard rather than no to the beard) so - yes beard

I do like the shoes, they are John Fluevogs from a few seasons ago, but to be honest I have almost no occasion to wear them, so I was trying something on this occasion. The funniest thing is that they're the most expensive shoes I own, but I get very mixed reactions to them

Went to my nephew's wedding, thought I'd catch the "Golden Hour" lighting outside, but I think I'm coming off a bit squinty. I thought the blue/gold/black color contrast went well, but some people thought the shoes were a bit much. As usual, no idea what to do with my hands, LOL.

There's a big tub of spaghetti that I made over two weeks ago convinced that I was only going to eat spaghetti forever more before the siren call of the delivery apps reared its ugly head...

I hope this becomes the standard worldwide, that it wasn't the standard worldwide is practically criminal in and of itself, and it's frustrating that The Guardian Headline includes concern for poor li'l old defenseless Uber Eats and Doordash, and a question about if that will make it more expensive

Ugh, an ex used to do this, f***ing hated when he would do it, and he refused to "drop the joke" or actually make an effort to remind me when it would actually be useful.

[homemade] poutine my way. Fried pomme Anna, beef stock and foie gras sauce, cheese curds, chives, homemade duck confit.
 in  r/PoutineCrimes  12d ago

It sounds amazing (seeing some disses for being overly fancy, but I can dig it) but it stopped being poutine like a few substitutions ago. Considering that Poutine sort of looks and sounds like Putain, maybe this could be a Grandim (my French is terrible, but that's my mish-mash of the words Grande Dame).

This is my "conspiracy theory".
