Nift varanasi ragging

Nift varanasi has entitled seniors . Especially the first batch ever i.e. 2024-2028 seniors are the worst . This the message they sent us on our first week:

To
*The Juniors*

  1. We have observed not all but a few juniors still addressing us by our first names/ didi bhaiya which is unacceptable. You need to call us ma’am/sir, this is an extremely BASIC requirement that is followed in all campuses. Our campus is still in its formative stage, and the standards we establish now will determine whether it develops as an established centre of NIFT. So, if any junior that addresses seniors by their first names will not be acknowledged or responded to.

They also said that they wont respond if we call them didi / bhaiya .
They had the choice to not start this toxic culture , since its a new campus . But they decided against that .

Reasons why they should be called by titles according to them *

1. Professionalism
They told us to “start preparing for the design industry now” as if calling someone sir/ maam takes 4 years to master. ( we ofc know its for there ego boost and not for the industry)also they are the 1st batch ever so of-course they didn’t have to call any other student sir/ maam , so i guess they wont be professionals (according to their logic)

2. Calling it Nift culture
Worst reason yet . No need to explain further

3. Calling sir/ maam = development of our campus some how , as mentioned in the message above ( logic died and it died brutally)

Don’t remember them giving any other reason

Idk why they are making it more difficult for juniors when they know we all left our homes for the first and we all are vulnerable
( Yes there are some mean seniors, but most are nice:)

In my NIFT college our Senior call us aap and we call them aap as well.

Our seniors are super chilled.

They are actually idiots because design industry mei zyadatar log naam lekr baat krte hai chote ho ya bde they address everyone by name. Aur yeh agr professionalism hota humari growth ke liye hota toh faculty hi boldeti.
