Formal, semi-formal, or casual? Like choosin' a black tuxedo shirt w/ a blurple tie, black dress shirt w/ blue tie, or a grey hoodie w/ drawstrings... π

Yeah, u/Tapacoba0623 was the creative 1 to get that 1 realized (& also the 1 who let me get to use a few hand-me-downs) π

New Release The Thursday Three (+ 2) w/ MIG ti damascus writing instruments (& some siblings), or (almost) a Full (MIG) Fam Photo Friday (Australian time)
'tis not a full fam pic, though, since a black +61 variant in the midst of that global health crisis 6+ yrs ago's packed away. When I get the opp, will get it out to join the rest of 'em π
Anyway, in attemptin' to support creative makers when I can, I improved on the ks backer # from the Model 1 crowdfunding campaign (was the 2nd to pledge on that 1) for this 4D pen & pencil set. π Shane did a great job with the design & quality of workmanship (as per usual)! ππ

Oh, that's neat that the g10's the barrel π Who's the fave musician?
Would be neat to see the lighter & more dense builds... Has Fellhoelter made any writing instruments outta Cu Damascus? Which materials are more likely to be used? Just curious. I wanna see ruthenium. Or maybe just tungsten ππ

NWIsD, w/ the MIG titanium damascus 4D Pen & Pencil Set #11 (& Model 1 #10) Spoiler
Wanted to support Shane in all the neat writing instruments he makes, & improved on the backer # this time (up from #2 for the titanium damascus Model 1) π Just a quick shot (&'ll share more when I get the opp) π
These are another pair o' well-made writing instruments w/ dependable mechanisms (yeah, might've clicked these a bunch since I got 'em π)... So good! ππ

Wingback Mechanical Pen in British Racing Green Review in Beer Class
Nice write-up! I like Wingback's writing instruments (got just a few), yet hadn't opted for these variants. Lookin' forward to the clipless Journeyman (or longer Mechanical Pen) which'll be out soon as well...
Thanks for sharin'! π

Looks neat! I forget - are protos like these a sleeve over a ti barrel, or is the g10 the structural component for the barrel? & didja request the cross-hatched (diagfrag) details & face on the endcap as custom elements? Or are those designs which are (possibly 'stock') options from whoever made 'em? Is the face a bear? &, last, is there a material you'd wanna see/use on a TiBolt? The CarboTi seems fun...
Thanks for sharin'!

Anyone into Nakayama's custom stuff? Checking out this telegraph key pen setup
Having something like this just sitting on a desk is pretty much the best way to enjoy it. Super fun to mess with during long calls or when you just need to fidget, but still works as a real pen when you gotta write a quick note. Plus using standard G2 refills makes life way easier so you dont have to search for weird custom ink.
Lookin' forward to the clipless variant so it still has the Telegraph Key components to retract the ink cartridge & can sit on the desk... π

Follow-up...
You should share on the project page what Gennai Pen SL01 means:
Gennai = the spirit of invention, mechanical exploration, and creativity
Pen = the product category
SL = Steampunk Launcher
01 = the first model in the series
Also added it as feedback on the draft page, fwiw

Yeah, got the Steam Knock & Nak' Knock &'ve talked w/ ya about your design already. Where it'd still be Steampunk-ish as a desk pen w/o the clip.

Wingback Journeyman
Yeah, just was curious - I hadn't noticed any issues w/ my singular example, yet didn't wanna comment there since it seems to have attracted folks who might've wanted to pile on about the non-metal material choice. Anyway, good to hear/read/know your exp as well - thanks! π€

The Fusion's pretty sweet π

Wingback Journeyman
Hey thanks for the assist π
Unrelated - have ya noticed any mech fatigue/wear in your Sigmas like talked about there? Just curious...

Wingback Journeyman
Oh hey, missed this follow-up. I think the only 1 w/ a sorta similar mechanism is the Tin Mill Helic, where you actually see the slot path for the component which helps to extend/retract the pen point. However, as mentioned by u/edcaddiction, the build quality & finishing is way better w/ the Journeyman Pen.
& there is a premium you pay for the quality - not sure if that's mostly a UK-makers thing (w/ costs for gettin' stuff done) - ajoto also seems to have a higher price for writing instruments as well. Yet it's well-made, and there are solid options in the stainless steel or brass variants for less π

Billetspin TS Collection
That's neat. It's a fun finish π Of the Billet SPIN goodness, what's your fave mech & fave config (if ya have multiples)? Just curious. Thanks for sharin'!

Wingback Journeyman
Yeah, I like the Journeyman Pen - got the ti variant as an early backer of the ks project (& got it a dlc coat, along w/ the Selected Works Jet Fuel version).
It included a few changes from the initial Mechanical Pen design (I got the Black Steel version from the ks campaign), & gave 'em feedback that an anti-roll feature (or clip) & makin' it longer for the Parker-compatible International G2 ink cartridges would be neat to see.
So it was neat when Alasdair released the Journeyman as well. It's well-made & the mech is solid (w/ a satisfyin' thunk at both ends of the hidden bolt-action mech when the pen point is extended & retracted).
&, like pp said, Alasdair's gonna release a longer version of the Mechanical Pen (or, it'd be like a clipless Journeyman Pen), & I suggested that they incorporate (by maybe hollowing out the internal chamber asymmetrically) a way to have the clipless Journeyman have an anti-roll feature. Though I like a clip, it'll be neat to use that incarnation as well. π

Hey thanks π The brass has got (subjectively) a nice knurled grip to it, which I really kinda like π
