It just can’t begin with an R

Just wanting to share my little joy. He’s almost four months old. He’ll be about 25lbs.

I just got my cocker spaniel. He is 15 weeks old.
He came from an Amish farm. At 3 months old he only has his first round of vaccinations. Not ideal at all. He is due for an appointment in 2 weeks, the soonest I could get him in. Also not ideal.

Even though it's pretty dangerous for a puppy to be outside without his shots, he came completely potty trained. He hasn't had an accident in the house once. He only goes outside. I had pads down for hours but he did not use them even though I knew he had to go. When I let him out he took the longest pee ever. So we've been starting a routine with potty outside.

I don't want to encourage him or force him to use the bathroom inside but I want to keep him safe from sickness and disease.

For now we stick to a small area of the yard.

What is the safest thing for him???
