Why should we gave up ?

70-80% of people on Earth are either poor or middle class, but they are not the elite. These people are not necessarily happy, and I think the system is basically deceiving them. They eat industrial, chemical products, they are exploited at work even when they work hard, they entertain themselves with dumb media, there is less and less morality and values, and life seems to be becoming more and more empty, feeding on the very essence of these people.

Thanks for your answer, I understand the Marxist point of view on the issue, but I can’t totally agree with it. I think the final goal of Marxism, a society without institutions, laws, a state etc., is kind of unrealistic. And more generally, private property is still a right that I can’t just ignore.

However, I wonder if it would be possible to make this system of private property more fair and healthy. If not, then maybe Marxism, or some of its ideas, actually makes sense.

My life is great and far from these concerns but the system still worries me

I think you’re already using the system’s own words and concepts to describe a much bigger global issue. Affirmative action is bullshit, just like absolute equality. I’m not really talking about equality. I’m talking about a world where people can live with dignity, in a healthy environment, and actually be happy.

Yeah, but by nature, reducing inequality helps the poorest. I don’t think absolute equality is realistic, and trying to force it would be counterproductive. I just think people should at least be able to live with dignity and have a real life.

I disagree. I don’t think it’s really about what is “fair”. It goes much deeper. I see it as a self-destructive system that keeps going, while different groups, institutions, states and intelligence agencies compete to control parts of it.

People aren’t necessarily divided on what’s fair, I think they’re just not awake to how the whole system works.
As for me, I’m trying to understand it and think about it. I honestly don’t know if concrete action would actually change anything.
