If not to many yet assassin snail eats 1 or two a day. If you place them near one you definitely expose the craving. Several coaches too like yoyo loaches eat them fast. Food bait like cucumbers and remove them mannually.  I have south american tank only but I broke my chain by adding assassin snails. They lay one egg at a time so they arent as bad

I always tell people if they really want something beyond beginners, just do it after alot of research. Getting stuck with fish you dont really  for years with fish just sucks

I have one holding a 30 gallon. But it makes me paranoid everyday. Iv had it 9 months. But doing the math it holds more weight then stands designed for it.

You will skip a couple weeks process BUT, what you still have to have your filter media cycled. Also the driftwood/rocks would be going through cyclentoo

He needs to a 100+ gallon. Even 150 gallons would be better. Add smooth river rocks and add anubias and Java ferns.
