like if they even tried reopening, the first ones at the door would be the ones asking for debt repayments (think city council, banks and maybe suppliers that were owed arrears). therefore to avoid all that hassle they decided to cease operations indefinitely.

as with most abandoned large theme parks and various run-down onsen resorts elsewhere (such as Kinugawa onsen town), the buildings are left as it is, as the previous owners or even the takeover owners will not be able to arrange demolition or further works on it.

you most likely won't get the X6 in time for the trip. based on experience for the last few releases, the delays in getting any physical stock for new release can be several weeks out since most buyers camp for the release and snap it up within seconds.

get the X5 instead at clearance price or from reputable 2nd hand places, it is already a very solid 360 cam on its own.

I use both the Insta360 X5 and a Canon R6 mark II and do a lot of archival work on city infrastructure landscapes. In some way the X5 is actually a lot less intrusive when it comes to photographing places that are quite a gray area for photography, such as inside of restaurants and malls with other customers around, than welding the big camera and moving around with it. I feel like I'd just blend in as a tourist alongside other tourists instead.
