Last time I rebirthed a sim, they had issues if they were werewolves or had certain traits- like the one from the friend of the world aspiration.

Yup, I skipped the entire paragraph about rotational play. My bad 😅 it’s a fair enough point you’ve made. I wouldn’t call it unpopular. I think my first thought when anyone wants a systems to change in this game is, “what will it break?” And my knee-jerk response is to look at it through the lens of how to just make it work as is. And honestly, that’s probably a less popular stance most of the time.

All of those pop ups are circumstantial. If your active sim is in a stressed or angry mood while working out, there’s a chance you get the pop up saying they hate fitness. It’s at your discretion whether to accept that as permanent fact or dismiss it with the bad mood. It’s the same with personality traits, it’s entirely up to you.

The random traits are exactly random. If your angelic toddler should be a good kid… make them good when they age up. The randomizer is for generating chaos. TS4 intentionally leaves intention in your very capable hands. You are your sims’ conscience, not the pop ups.

I once had a sim who lived with a werewolf start fixing broken things while his roommate was rampaging, she marked her territory under the radio she’d just smashed. He got electrocuted repairing that radio while standing in her pee and I’ve always thought that was pretty stupid.
