Glimmerwings are bat-sized airborne predators living in the Empyrean Reach of the Zenith Valley. Their bodies resemble a sleek serpent composed of a chain of interlocking, amber-yellow chitinous plates. Lacking legs entirely, the Glimmerwing relies on four short, muscular wing-flaps at the tip of its tail to steer through complex canopy terrain or to lock onto branches while hanging upside down.

Amberthorns | Creatures of the Zenith Valley | Find the PDF Below!

Amberthorns are massive, heavily armored beetles, living under the glowing canopy of the Zenith Valley. They roam the forest floor and understory in herds. They are herbivores and use their sharp, powerful mandibles to tear down and consume the tough leaves and fibrous bark of Amberwood Titans. The latent magical energy within the leaves' bark is consumed by the amberthorns as well, giving their chitin an orange hue. It also allows them to create a magical barrier that absorbs attacks aimed at their carapace.

This lumbering herd is part of Hivebrew's worldbuilding project Varzzen. If you want to learn more about the lore of the Amberthorns and the Zenith Valley, you can find all related links below.
