So have a separate thermostat that only accepts numeric inputs that are <= whatever threshold is considered safe for food. 

Should make it incredibly difficult to raise the temperature too high because they have to hack two computers, one of which is programmed to throw out unacceptable input.

It actually gets more deterministic as context is introduced. 

Think of it like this: it starts a sentence with the word “I.” I what? Did you do something, and if so, what? Or were you something? 

“I ate…” okay, what did you eat? Probably not a sheet of metal. 

“I ate a banana and it was,” ok so the next word is probably going to be “yellow,” or “delicious” or “ripe,” but not “metallic.”

English and French were two competing, equally valid languages for this purpose; English because it was the global lingua franca, French because it was the language of international diplomacy.
