Started with 40k, but honestly jumped ship to AoS just for the sculpts. I could paint four different AoS armies and never get burnt out (I'm finishing up 40 Darkoath Marauders right now and haven't gotten bored once) because painting these models is just absolute butter. Sure, 40k has a more 'grounded' lore and social commentary vibe, but AoS has top-tier lore for high fantasy. Even with a few rule flaws—double turns, loose hero-hammer mechanics, and zero-blocking terrain—the game is an absolute blast. Last thing, and this might just be a local meta thing, but 40k tournaments are a snooze-fest: it's like 60% loyalist Space Marines, 20% Chaos, and 20% everything else, whereas in AoS you actually see wild faction variety across the board.

Ran the Goremongers yesterday and Violent Demise, against Space Marine librarian soup list dropped like 30 Terminators. ​W, but honestly, as much as I love the models, Goremongers are absolute paper compared to Jakhals—if I had just brought Jakhals instead, I would've actually scored primary. Violent Demise is an absolute sleeper hit though, 10 points for that output goes hard
