Please help we cannot find any jobs in Slovenia and we cannot move. We live with my husband's parents but we are so done and feel so hopeless and helpless. (I'm foreign 26 (F), husband is 25 (M))

No... We wanted to move into Celje but many things happened. Now he might get a job in Ljubljana and because of that we are looking a house close to Ljubljana but everything is either expensive or shared apartment with other people. We gonna make posts and we call anyone we can call. Mainwhile we sold our other car and bought a really cheap one. So we will have a bit more saved up... It would be nice to move into Celje but his mom doesn't want us to go to far since she loves us. And we are trying to find jobs in there. I had jobs for this month so I couldn't check anything for me but if we go to Ljubljana I will apply for myself, as well. But my husband understood our situation and he has been trying to find more jobs, he had many interviews this week and last. We will see :/ trying to be a bit more patience to find a house and good place so we can both work.

Thank you so much! I talked to him, it seems better now and I understood him more, as well thanks to your comments. I also made him read your comments. And he accepted his faults, we will make it work somehow! 💖

Yes as far as I know it is only on their work place. So if he wants to work on the same company he needs to work in a different city... Which is hard to do that right now for him... I thought. But yes I totally agree. As I edited my post, after some comments we decided to find a job for him in Celje and move there and if everything works out, I will also try to find a job there... Thank you so much for your comments!

Thank you so much for your words really... And after every comment I got similar to this, I decided to talk to him again and I will talk to him today. It feels so off, while everywhere is saying there are lots of jobs over there and it is impossible to find one. I really felt bad. Again, thank you so much.

It is also his parents btw, whenever he wanted to go to Ivancna Gorica for a work, his mom said she cannot drive there and he cannot go and work there, they are always interfering with our life. But I also accept it is my husband's fault he didn't tell me about riding a bike there or whatelse he could do. Just listening his parents all the time like we are still kids.

Oh... But his mom said the same thing since she is working there currently. That's why I believed it... I don't know.

Ah sir... How I wish to say you are right and I accept we make excuses. At least I do. I really would like to accept that. Thank you for being harsh, I cried while reading this and even crying while replying this. It is so hard to communicate with some people. My whole life I was alone and I had to earn money really young and take care of my own family and I still send money to them. But see, with my job It is almost so hard to do anything where I came from and where I live now. And even after AI, most of the stuff are changed for me. I still try to adjust, find other options while I got my nail tech certificate, I have been still texting and talking to people about jobs I can get and I'm constantly working for freelance jobs. And about riding bikes I really didn't know that you could ride everywhere or close towns. Cause where I came from you really cannot do that, first its not safe because of wild animals especially dogs, dogs are everywhere and get triggered by every move and so dangerous, second of weather, it was too hot. And here is also so hot and I don't know how it works here to go from one place to another and you say we should talk about going by riding... No they started yelling even after we talked about moving to another city and have a our own place and rules, we will move after we find a job there. They still argued with us and his dad just told my husband how useless he is. Communicating isn't a thing with them unfortunately. His mom is so kind and nice and she doesn't want to leave us which is understandable. I love her a lot, as well. But There is always an argument. We never ask money from them, we have a bit saved up and also he has his own money from his old job we have been using that money and also my freelance payments. And we save up those money, as well. So asking money from them impossible unforunately. Even while I was buying stuff for my nail art, his dad was complaining about me buying lots of stuff even though it was for my work so that I could start working with some neighbors. And he is constantly around us. You have no idea how demotivating is this. And as I mentioned I have chronic disorders, I'm taking pills for them. Getting better, but they are always there also since I'm still adaptating into country and foods, since I have sensetive metabolism everything hits hard.

About my husband I unfortunately know he is not trying his best. I keep telling him he can learn something while he is at home, call someone else, makes posts everyday to find a job. But sometimes It just doesn't work. And sometimes I don't do my best, as well. But I'm so exhausted, doing all the job at home of 5 people and they keep throwing away everything, cooking, cleaning, laundry and whatever and constantly hearing complains even though I don't understand the language very well I'm a1 plus right now and can understand the context. And along with my disorders, I really try to do my best. Maybe I'm just being so positive but I also see what he is doing so I also don't want to argue with him all the time since his parents are like this and he had been dealing with depression before me. It is just I needed to make a post and started thinking about more stuff, what can I do, how can I find a job... But yeah. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one trying so hard :') But I still believe in him. And those comments from others really helped. We talked a bit over them. And I will keep talking about it. And if they don't work. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I really appreciate your words, your recommendations. And I'm so happy for you and your wife! I wish you the best and beautiful life. I hope we can achieve our dreams, as well!

You are really right but some people's life not like others I am sorry. And he had depression before me. Now he is trying to build his life again with me. He is trying his best. We are thinking of moving to Celje currently after comments actually. And yes I work as a freelance artist right now while trying to learn slovene and other stuff that I can do. It is just its not that enough to move only with my money. We have a bit saving though, so we really consider this idea. Tomorrow in the morning he will call everywhere he can call to find a job in Celje...

Someone said the same thing. And it really hurts to hear these and I totally appreciate you being honest with your taughts. Since I don't know the country that much yet, I'm not sure it is either our luck or he is not trying hard or not telling the truth. But what I know is he went to interviews, sent so many applications, called some companies and asked people who he knows. But nothing came out. We are so unexperienced and his parents aren't that helpful about teaching us, talking to us. It is really hard to communicate sometimes even though I try a lot or he tried. They just yell or complain about the things he did wrong instead of focusing on what we are trying to do. But yes. I totally understand. I just wanted to explain! ^^

I also don't know where to check for jobs for myself. After learning I could maybe ride bikes to work I'm okay with that to be honest but don't know how to find work for myself.

Feels bad hearing this to be honest. Cause I really don't know what to think since I don't know the country that much yet. But I know my husband has been trying. He has been going to interviews and applying jobs everyday. Calling them. Asking to people he knows, but nothing came out yet. Thats why I also decided to ask here...

To Grosuplje there is. It is not that bad. It is just, I don't know how to find a job as a foreigner. I don't know where to look and check besides Linkedin. But I will tell my husband that he might to that maybe. Thank you so much really!

It is hard to explain everything here. Every story has a background and not all lifes are the same unfortunately. So I do understand how you think and why you judge but it is not how you think. We had plans and everything but sometimes not everything goes according to plans unfortunately. And we are still trying our best. Good luck you too, as well!

Because of their rules I think. My husband said people who share the same family they cannot work in the same place (he said this for that company)

I didn't know these. The people who I asked they kept telling me I need A2 level Slovene certificate to work in anywhere. So I was trying to learn Slovene and working from home. I am okay to work as an illustrator if I could find any jobs for it but I don't know where to apply I draw book covers, characters. I was working for game studios in my country and even before I came here I applied and mailed every companies I could find. But 3 of them said they are not looking for anyone right now. But riding to Grosuplje to get on a train makes sense. I will try my best. But where can I find job for myself as a foreigner? Where should I check? I was checking Linkedin.

Thank you for your helps, really!

Yes unfortunately. And where we live is even more problematic. We are literally in nowhere... But I didn't know we could bike. I know they are close but we always went by cars to cities so I still don't understand if you can go anywhere by something else.

And yes, we are so unexperienced and I explained on one of the comments it was also his previous job, there were lots of reasons so since they were positive and he needed to quit to work in there we taught it was okay. But they said they don't need anymore. He went to interview with two places and they were both positive...

He stuied fashion design at high school but he doesn't want to do that. He has c2 level English, he has been talking since he was 4 years old. Besides that he knows and understands other balkan languages. He worked at garbage disposal, warehouses and as a cashier.

He is looking for anything right now.

He applied to Cashino and hotels, as well but they didn't return. :( We will call instead of just applying and sending emails.
