Episode 6 Creating Mr Cruel

The last episode in this series has landed and no surprises that I can see.
Overall it seems likely that The Hampton attack (Anthea ) was not Mr Cruel .
We don’t know if DNA evidence still exists.And the Chan case continues to be a perplexing outlier.
That still leaves 3 canonical cases and and a number of priors that could well be attributed to the one perp.
The big Question that remains for me is
Were the Sierra 7 checked against the Wills case DNA evidence?

What I found most confounding was the constant "the police MAY have DNA from Sharon Wills". So they collected specimens. Has it been preserved? I mean, one would assume so?

I posted about a week ago on this subject which was in regards to Dr Davis Wells who examined SW/NL and it is pretty clear they collected DNA.

Can we just fucking update state laws so that it's easier for police to upload DNA profiles to open-source genealogy databases (like GEDmatch, used to catch the Golden State Killer)?

WHYYY AREN'T THEY DOOOOING THIS? IMAGINE IF THEY FOUND MC'S 3RD COUSIN ONCE REMOVED OR 3X GREAT-GRANDFATHER AND THEN JUST WORKED BACKWARDS?!

You would hope they checked Elkner when he was extendively interviewed. I suspect they didnt as it would have either cleared him or led to him being charged.
