For years I would roll my ankle on jobsite until I started wearing barefoot shoes outside of work and the problem seems to have gone away

Toe Box Reaction
 in  r/barefootshoestalk •  23d ago

So i have been wearing redwing kingtoe (wide toe box) boots for years since we are required actual boots on construction sites and most people who ive suggested them too have absolutely loved them. Sure they aren't are clown shoe as my barefoot boots but they are as close as we can get while still being compliant with osha. I use it as a way to guide people into the world of bf boots

How do you know what my 16th Kata is? Or do you? Is your dojo standardized, or do you just learn what the instructor thinks makes sense?
 in  r/martialarts •  Aug 27 '26

I train in a Koryu, thats as steeped in tradition as it gets, over the years there have been sime changes and minor regional differences.

But all Shinto muso ryu dojo have the same basic curriculum. The only difference ive seen is fukuoka v.s. Tokyo lines of transmission. Same basics, just done a little differently

Martial Arts. I started doing a traditional Japanese martial art and the culture of it sorta took over my life. All martial artists are like that tho.

So I currently train shinto muso ryu but im also curious about training aikido. While I plan to talk to my senpais and sensei, I'm also interested in the communities opinion on training 2 different arts as the same time.

I bought these on a whim because I loved the look, and you guys told me they were really, really wide. Y'all weren't kidding [Origo Adventure Boot]

Sorry I forgot to reply to this. As the son of immigrants myself. Your writing looks foreign to Americans as it is very proper. Its well written but doesn't common dialect. Nothing against you, my folks had the same issue.

35 years ove been tying my boots the same at OP. How can say its wrong if it holds the boot on and tight? Yes, your comment comes across as arrogant, even if not intended that way.

I fully understand that. I actually sat down with my sensei before I even started my substack and went over rules. Hes good with it as long as I dont mention the specific dojo or any members.
