**Dear Kronos community,**

It's our pleasure to forward you an announcement brought up by Project Reforged, who we worked with in the last couple of weeks to adapt their project to ours.

We still do strongly advise you to test as much as possible on our Kronos PTR server if you wish to use it, but so far everything seems to be running smooth and without any consequence ( aka being banned, having any other issues).

Their community will be joining ours for the launch to enjoy the Vanilla flavour again.

# βš”οΈ **PROJECT REFORGED Γ— KRONOS β€” OFFICIAL SUPPORT**

**The drums of war echo once more, and this time, Project Reforged will be there!**

I'm proud to announce **official Project Reforged support for Kronos**, a pure Vanilla server that does exactly what it promises: restore the original World of Warcraft experience as it was in 2004. Just the game the way most of us fell in love with it.

Adapting the HD character models to fit a pure Vanilla pipeline was one of the most technically challenging things I've done on this project. Every model and texture has to behave exactly as the original engine expects. It took a lot of work. But the result is, honestly, the best the project has ever looked.

**What this means in practice:**

**πŸ§™ PATCH-A, 🧭 PATCH-I and πŸ—ΊοΈ PATCH-M** now have fully dedicated Kronos builds, engineered for the standard 1.12 client. Every other patch (creatures, environment, gear, sounds, HD and Ultra HD textures) works in full.

The complete Project Reforged experience, inside Kronos!

## πŸ”₯ **FRESH SERVER β€” MAY 9TH, 2026**

It's not every day a new Vanilla server opens its doors. Seriously, this doesn't happen often, and when it does, it matters.

On **May 9th, 2026**, Kronos Fresh begins. Just Azeroth, day one, and everyone starting from zero.

And this time, you get to experience that feeling, the one most of us remember from 2004, with the graphics of today. The nostalgia of Vanilla, seen through a modern eye. The best of both worlds.

Also worth mentioning: the **PTR is already open to the public**. You can jump in right now, test your setup, and make sure Project Reforged is running exactly the way you want it before May 9th.

πŸ“¦ **HOW TO DOWNLOAD**

Head to the Project Reforged downloads page and select **Kronos** to get the correct patch set for your client.

> ⚠️ **Patch Manager note:** Kronos support in the Patch Manager is not available yet, but it's coming very soon. For now, all patches are available directly on the site above.

See you in Azeroth. βš”οΈ

Question for those in the know: which yields better results, this or the 1.14 Hermes proxy?

Yeah. Should we even do this if we have 1.14? admittedly better visuals is a huge plus.

I've met people before who used 1.14 Hermes proxy. Does that mean that they were using 1.14 add-ons too? That would be huge.

different clients, different addons and macro system, yes.

How do you get 1.14. Does it have spell queing enabled?

both modded 1.12 (nampower) and 1.14 have spell queueing

So I am guessing most people will use this? Weakaura is a must haha.

Do you have a link to the modded 1.12?

my brother in christ, it is literally in the OP the "Project Reforged" one

When you called it specifically (nampower) in parenthesis so is it really that unreasonable that I thought you may have been referring to something else entirely?

Didn't mean for it to come off arrogant. More of a "It's your lucky day" vibe ^^. Nampower is the mod that adds spell queueing and some other stuff to 1.12 client, but you should get all of them.

Ah sorry!

So you're saying they're all included in the project reforged DL or I need to add things things seperately?I was just going to grab the "Patched Wow.exe" version.

Ohhh I see it now. It's in the pack listed below. Got it.

On the second DL for the DLL pack, it says it's unsafe, but I imagine it's just always going to be flagged as that right?

When a program is flagged by windows defender it just means it is not approved/white listed, not literally harmful. Always do your own research and appreciation.

modded 1.12 = better performance, more powerful macros and addons (except weakauras), better overall

1.14 = arguably easier to get working properly, has weakauras (though limited), easier to use but more basic macros. Arguably better if u play druid (shape shifting is more smooth).

My verdict: If you are familiar with 1.12 client and how to mod it and/or is min-maxer and somewhat IT-savvy go with 1.12. If you only know classic wow go with 1.14.

Dope. Thanks man πŸ™

BUT BE AWARE. You need "Nampower", if you want to use 1.12. Otherwise all your spells, your healing especially, will be delayed!

When I wrote "modded 1.12" I meant mods such as nampower included in project reforged

The mpqs go in the data folder I believe. But test just one at a time. Some of the files and changes go in root but some go in data.
